Pours hazy and a mild yellow color with minimal head in the 1/5" range. Aroma smacks of grapefruit harder than your 90s ipa bragging about C hops and triple digit ibus.

Taste is like drinking a Squirt soda pretty much. Lots of grapefruit and carbonation, little to nothing in the way of hops, malt or yeast to perceive here. Do I like the "taste"? Sure. It ain't bad, I like Squirt right? But in terms of do I like the taste of this "beer" that often isn't going to be what I am looking for. Super hot day around a body of water? Sure, break it out. But like, an indoors drinking session while watching sports? Prolly not. Thankfully, the mouthfeel isn't such that it is cut with sugar to balance it out.

In terms of shandy/fruit beers, there is nothing wrong with this one at all. Prolly the gold standard from what I've had over the years. For me, the problem is, when the conditions call for this beer, I'd rather just have a session ipa, pale ale, berliner, gose, gueze/lambic etc. . .

Pounder can into a Stone pint glass.

A: Pours hazy white like white grapefruit juice; hugely foamy white head sticks around forever.

S: A citrus assault of white grapefruit, orange, lemon and lime.

T: Same here - big white grapefruit flavors as well as half-sweetened orange juice, finishes with tart lemon and lime as well as a touch of a yeasty/bready malt quality from the beer. There are even white grape/white wine flavors as well.

MF: Big effervescence in a light, refreshing body. Spritzer-like.

O: A good Radler, still fairly sweet but much more natural-tasting than some of the other mixed beer options like Leinenkugel's Shandy. Like drinking grapefruit juice. Could be a great low-abv option for summer. Refreshing.

Pours a pale yellow with a medium white head. Smells of grapefruit flavored sprite. Taste is grapefruit flavored sprite. Mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing. Overall, more of a soda feel than a beer. Good for summer.

Poured from a 16 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear light yellow- pale gold color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is all grapefruit. The taste is a very refreshing grapefruit with some beer qualities thrown in. This is a very refreshing drink.

I can't believe that this is a beer. You can taste the grapefruit juice, but no beer at all.

I have love that beer but it is far from all the other beer I had in my life. If you want a real radler with just a taste of juice.
This is the one to have.

Just a nice refreshing beer. Grapefruit with some other citrus notes. Lower carbonation than expected with all the foam. Goes down super easy. A summer favorite.

Poured from bottle into pilsner flute. Hazy yellow appearance, nice head, lots of carbonation. As expected, aromas and flavors of grapefruit soda. Sweet, but not cloying. Refreshing, easy drinking. Better than I expected.

Poured from the can into a nonic pint glass.

Pale and opaque straw lemon body. A sudsy and snapping white head, not too bright in color, at about a solid three fingers. Dissolves somewhat quickly to a soap like thinned collar and minimal puck. Aside from the head this could pass for a nearly turbid IPA.

Smells like grapefruit juice in the supermarket. Light, a little bitter oil, and very sticky smelling with some decent sweetness. Not much beer sense but also keeps the soda quality on the nose to a minimum.

On the palate. Well, you just can't fault this for what it is. Soda wet but also thick enough to just be a little larger. Tangy grapefruit, light sugars and a nice zip without the gaseous carbonation. Light pops of grapefruit and zest, sugar sweet as if dusted right on the fruit. Not much beer character but there isn't really supposed to be.

Tastes like fruit juice made better, and stays away from sugary soda qualities. A real simple refresher.

Great summer time beer. Has a really great grapefruit flavor to it. Goes down easy. One of my favorites. My wife hates beer but she loves this one.

This is not a beer, it is a concoction, a shandy. Beer with fruit soda. So I will rate it as for the style. Poured into a pint glass from a can. No foam, no lacing, just a thin ring of bubbles at the meniscus. It smells like an orange soda, except grapefruit. Squirt Ⓡ ? It is cloudy, like there is juice in there. In the mouth, not sticky, just the right sweetness. Grapefruit, rock candy, and a fine fizz. In German, radler means cyclists, as in riding bicycles, and this is made for them. It cuts the scum in the mouth without much alcohol, about half what a lager would be. So you can ride and be refreshed without much of a buzz. Perfect!
Edit: Poured another into the same glass, got a little foam this time. That's all.

Ok I wasn't actually looking for this particular grapefruit beer. I was looking for Leinenkugel's Grapefruit Shandy at my local grocery store. Unfortunately they were all out and the liquor department assistant saw my sad face and persuaded me to try Stiegl Radler. He said "everyone" compares it to Leinenkugel's Grapefruit. So the sucker that I am purchased the 4 pack of cans. I don't like to discriminate beer and this guy was a good salesman! He even pointed out that this beer was on sale for $7.99! Is that even a sale for a 4 pack??? Well I bought it needless to say. Big Mistake....I was looking for a beer!! This is no way a beer. It shouldn't even be in the same category as beer. I think it said Malt Beverage on the can. Don't get me wrong, I like grapefruit. That's why I was looking for the grapefruit flavor in the first place, but this is definitely NOT A BEER. No beer taste at all. This tastes like a grapefruit flavored Squirt (pop, soda). And that's fine too...but this shouldn't be in the beer category. I like beer that actually tastes like beer, and I also like the fruity beers like Blue Moon, Leinenkugel's Shandies, and brewery sweet beers. But this Stiegl Radler is definitely for people who don't like that beer taste or who don't really drink. I tried wine coolers that were stronger than this! You won't catch a buzz on this that's for sure unless you drink it all day, which I don't recommend because it may give you a bad stomach with all that sweetness and citrus flavors. 1 or 2 but that's it! Sorry I had to give it a thumbs down because I was looking for a beer with some Grapefruit flavor. I'm actually more mad at myself for believing that guy at the liquor department!! Definitely not worth the price. Save your money and buy grapefruit pop instead!

Poured 16.9 oz bottle into snifter glass. 3.2% abv

Appearance- Pours a light tan/pear color. Thin head that fades fast. Very hazy/cloudy.

Smell- Grapefruit floral aroma.

Taste- Grapefruit abounds, cane sugar and perhaps a touch of honey.

Mouthfeel- Thin in body with mild carbonation.

Overall- This one is much more a soda than a beer but still good. Not much in the way of complexity at all. But is what it says it is. Lots of natural, fresh grapefruit

I enjoy this beer, but as a kid I admit to being a squirt and donald duck grapefruit fan. I do not consider this even beer. It is a radler. Look- very very light beer with a a high level of carbonation like a soda. Smell- skunky grapefruit which the two brands I listed above being in that flavor classification. Taste- light carbonated grapefruit pop with the the ultra lite beer essence to it. Feel- like drinking a cola or sparkling beverage that is a grapefruit soda with some beer nod. Enjoyed from a 16 oz can and overall very good for a hot day fruit radler. Not a true beer at all.

This is not something I could drink very often, but it's nice for a hot day outside. It drinks like grapefruit juice and is way too sweet, but that is to be expected.

Look, its a radler, its supposed to be a 50:50 beer to sparkling fruit juice ratio. Similar to a shandy, but of German origin. So no, it doesn't taste like a beer, its not supposed to. That being said, this is a very tasty refreshing and crisp radler. Great example of the style and after a long bike ride its amazing. Try it for what it is and you won't be disappointed.

L - if we're being honest here, it looks like slightly dehydrated urine. You know, a dark clear gold with the slightest bit of milky haziness to it. Tons of bubbles too. Sticking to a completely clean glass like crazy.

S - a deep sweet ruby red grapefruit aroma. Smells like that grapefruit appetizer dish with the crunchy melted brown sugar on top and loads of sugar.

T - more of the same, but the grapefruit bitterness is a little more pronounced. Now it just feels like a ruby red without the brown sugar. Still some regular sugar. Definitely getting the candied soda taste. Feels unnatural, but I guess that's what it is so I can't really complain!

F - not as bubbly as it appears, but has a pleasantly aggressive sharp carbonation. Much like, dare I say it... soda!

O - not as bad as I was expecting. Extremely refreshing! As much as I hate to admit it, these fruity sugary wine cooler type drinks are a weakness of mine. Sometimes they just hit the spot, especially on a hot day. Just can't be too sweet! Probably why I like the grapefruit flavor.

There is a season and a time for this beer: summer, humid and after playing two hours of tennis.
My doubles partner got me started on this, so I probably had ten last summer.
However, I would have to be afraid of Lake Michigan water to have two of these in one day.

This pours a cloudy straw color producing a small head which dissipates quickly. Smells of grapefruit and citrus with a hint of grain from the beer. Taste is crisp, smooth and refreshing with a good fruity taste, however the lack of alcohol is a turn off, it tastes like a San Pellegrino. Aftertaste is full of citrus flavor. Carbonation is at a good level.

Pours a hazy medium straw producing less than a finger of rapidly diminishing, slightly off-white, champagne-like head that leaves no lacing & only a thin collar ring. Aroma is remarkably reminiscent of citrus cola like briney Mountain Dew or Ski with hints of grain. There are some more subtle notes that I can make out but can't quite place. Taste is overwhelmingly grapefruit & salt with hints of lemon-lime, mineral water & grain. The drying finish is briney & lemon-lime citrusy with a peppery spiciness. Aftertaste is ginger, low level citrus, salt & mineral. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lively carbonation, ginger ale dryness, spicy & prickly. I have checked online but can't discover if this is brewed with salt but it damn sure tastes salty! In fact more salty than a Gose. Perhaps I have a screwed up pallet. Very drinkable and quite refreshing it is very reminiscent of some Shandy's but more favorable.

Bottle. Sample pour. Poured a hazy orange color. Aroma is quite sweet. Sweetened grapefruit juice. Light wheat smell, too. Flavor is entirely the same. Sweet, sugary grapefruit juice. Wheaty finish. Slightly artificial. Feel has a sort of sugary texture to it. Such a low dosage of alcohol. A lot like the grapefruit Sanpellegrino. Not really my speed.

On tap at Wurst in Calgary
Slightly hazy, straw yellow, bright white fizzy head. Decent retention, thinnest of lace lines.
Smell is quite refreshing, grapefruit dominates, faint grain or wheat.
Taste has a bit of grain, lots of grapefruit, nice mix of sweet and tart, dry finish.
Mouth feel is crisp, light body, refreshing, easy to drink.

A- Love the design of the can...very lively looking! The beer itself is pale yellow in color....think lemonade, but more hazy than normal! The head is white, and starts about one finger thick but it quickly dissipates into a ring around the glass...to be expected with this style I suppose. The lacing is actually quite impressive with many small patches of foam that sticks to the glass...carbonation is normal in appearance!

S- Heavy grapefruit, orange and really a medley of any given citrus...due to the 50% fruit juice in the mix...perhaps like a pamplemousse soda....slightly sugary but nothing to be offended about....slightly beer like and of juice!

T- Heavy grapefruit and orange zest flavors! Much like a spritzer and/or pop....nothing much more to say here....super fruity...perhaps sweetened up a bit but nice balance between sweet and tart.

M/O- Light and crisp on the palate and plenty of champagne like carbonation! Very highly drinkable and a perfect hot summer refresher.....I haven't had a lot of Radlers to date but this one is super enjoyable and I can see myself on the beach with this...and getting a tan too of course! Recommended!

Good not great. As soon as the bottle is opened you are hot with a killer grape fruit smell. This would be a great summertime drink while cutting the grass. It is basically a hyped up Gatorade. Very hazy appearance. Heavy on the carbonation side. No bad after taste. I could see slamming more than one of these on a very hot day.
