Pours a clear mahogany with a moderate cap of light tan head, slightly foamy. The aroma is rich malts, a little grainy and earthy. The taste is about the same with a slight nutty finish. The body is surprisingly light, with just a hint of carbonation.

Light brown/ruby in color, thin head. Nutty, roast grain aroma, taste has more malt, some caramel sweetness,. Roast grain bitterness linger son the tongue. Classic doppelbock.

Look; A stunning deep red when held to the light. It has a nice two finger off-white head.
Smell; A tad faint, but a definite freshly baked brown bread smell. Some sweetness, little or no alcohol.
Taste; Again the freshly baked brown bread, but more pronounced, also burnt brown sugar and dates. Very rich tasting, a nice sipper!
Feel; Very full, sweet and sticky on the front, a bit dry on the back.
Overall; A very good Doppelbock, nicely done and worth visiting again.

A - Dark reddish mahogany and clear. Light tan head dissipates quickly.
S - Strong plum/dark fruit in the smell with some complimentary dark breadiness.
T - More dark fruit up front with dark bread crust flavors that follow closely. They work very well together, and one does not mask the other. No alcohol flavor is noticeable. Very sweet with no noticeable hop flavor and minimal bitterness.
M - A little syrupy/sweet, but not too heavy. Medium carbonation.
O - Strong dark fruit flavor is really good, but goes unchecked. It gets a little bit cloying after a while. Lucky there is a decent amount of carbonation to lighten things up.

Earthy, sweet brown malt. Toasted cereal and raisins, dark fruit. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Little bit of bitterness on the back end that lingers. Nice carb level.

Not sure if it is style or just this beer but don't think I will purchase again. It poured almost no head at all. Aroma reminds me of an old farmhouse and not in the good way like a Saison. Just not a beer for me but like always I am glad I tried it. Have a great day my friends.
