A - Ruby oak color. Very dead in the glass,no foam and no bubbles. Maybe it is because it is expired in a month..
B - Very strong coffee aroma. Strongest i ever smell it. Also some caramel.
T/M - Roasted malt, very tasty, refreshing. A bit sweeter from caramel. Medium carbonation and bitterness. Also some strong alcohol aroma. I was expected more creaminess.

O - Very aromatic, but not the best taste.

500ml Bottle: BBD Mar/14. Opened at the second ever Shrewsbury Bottle Share on 24th Feb 2014. Four of us partook in drinking this, an offering from my good self.

I've complained before about weak and watery Dunkel brews from Germany and beyond: no such worries with this lovely beer, it's far from weak or watery in nature.

Good looking brew too: very dark amber leaning towards brown with a mini red hue, on top a full and lasting head.

Sweet malty molasses rule the nose and taste, something my sweet tooth tends to like. Nothing complicated or special about this, but it is one of the better Dunkel beers I've come across so far.

It's not rich or creamy body wise but it carried the flavours nicely and is well worth trying if you get the chance.

Augustiner Bräu Dunkel
vom fass @ Augustiner am Gendarmenmarkt, Berlin, DE
,5L for €3,90 at noon on Christmas day 2013

Dark nut-brown body beneath a vanilla-white head. Clear. Very good head retention and lacing. Burnt, roasty, and nutty in the nose with a hint of fruit and coffee beans. Roasty and toasty in the mouth with a small amount of dark chocolate, more nuts than the nose suggests, and a bit of fruit (mainly raisin). Medium bodied. Smooth, gently crisp carbonation.

A dark brown beer with an enormous head.

The smell is very malty with notes of dark bread crust and a grainy smell. There is an 'green' edge to the beer that is a bit sharp.

The taste is malty with the specialty malts like munich giving the beer a deep taste. The maltiness is not as deep as I expected. The beer is sweet but not cloying, mouthfeel lacks a bit in depth. Bitterness is low.
