For a place like Meijer this is sweet. There is a whole wall filled with different kinds of beer in a refridgerator. There is a small section of wall with cases of beer non refridgerated. There is a large selection but mostly of all of the big names in beer and all of their different kinds. There are some diamonds in the rough like Bell's pale ale and some SN and GLBC. Other than that this is not worth coming here to buy beer. The wine selection on the other hand is great.

The service was very lacking. When I was there no one was very knowledgable about the beer or wine.

Hopefully it will get better in time. They are at least trying.

Update: as of the last couple of years, all Meijer locations in the Toledo area have updated and increased their beer stock, including a large increase in craft.

This place looks about like any other Meijer around. It's a large grocery-type store, though similar to a Target, Wal-Mart, etc. (electronics, Sporting Goods, Clothing, etc.). The overall beer selection is good, though only local craft is readily available, and only in bulk (sixers, obviously, but they can't be split). Service is dependent on whether you can find someone, and they're not there for their beer expertise. The job of any employee in the department is mainly to stock. They are, of course, friendly when you do speak with them, though. Still, it's not as much of an improvement as Kroger has made here lately. Overall, it's pretty typical of the Toledo scene.

From earlier reviews (going back 3+ years), it looks like Meijer used to have a nice selection. Unfortunately that is no longer the case.

Quality: The store is huge, well-lit and clean, so I can't slight the quality appearance angle. The beer aisle is haphazardly thrown together and lacking decent selection.

Service: I was greeted on entrance and exit, par for the course for a grocery store.

Selection: BMC paradise, this is not a craft brew store. I did see some Sam Adams, Longhammer IPA and Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold. Beyond those, there is no craft to be found.

I added this establishment because in the past few weeks, they've expanded their beer/wine space 500%. So far, the beer selection hasn't been anything spectacular, except that this is a Meijer. They have Bell's Pale Ale and a few other locals, Great Lakes in particular. One thing's that's nice is that you can get an air horn, a fishing rod, sewing needles and a plethora of Sam Adam's to choose from all in the same store. Worth checking out if you're needing a 12-pack, and to see the new look.
