Not as lively as the original, but still shows some leg.
Aroma is more spicy and alcoholic than the original.
Taste echoes the aroma. It's certainly bigger and drier, but there's a really great balance. Obvious dark rum and spice, treacle, hints of roasted nut and cocoa. Bitterness is subdued, alcohol warmth s pleasant.
Body is certainly thinner than the original, with more of a drying finish, but it's still very nice.
Another big thanks to Yardsale.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of deep roasted malt notes with some smooth black chocolate notes and light rum notes are quite interesting. Taste is a nice mix of roasted malt with some smooth black chocolate notes with some light residual sugar notes and some light rum barrel notes. Body is full with nice creamy texture and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Very enjoyable beer but the rum barrel notes could have been even more pronounced in my opinion.
