What a great homebrew/wine shop. I'm not a homwbrew guy but this is the shop lots of people talk about in the city. A review by a homebrewer would be best but I'm all there is at the moment.

Anyway, its a very friendly and wonderfully laid out shop. A wee bit crowed but I was told they are moving into larger space on Bayside Drive in a couple of months (early 2004). Barley Malt & Vine have been around for about ten years and that often says a lot just 'cause they're still here! Lots of books, brochures, and other aids to doin' it yourself. It all leans a little to the wine side of things but the beer section seemed well stocked with all kinds of choices - even glasses and mugs. They also hold workshops for the newbie both in the afternoons and in the evenings. If you're visiting then drop in to see their selection of things Canadian.

Interestingly, one corner is given over to cigars. Yep, cigars. There's that cigars and beer thing again. A very large selection too. In deed, the front door was surrounded by modular wine racks and a traditional cigar store Indian!
