Best before 2031.

Appearance: Nearly translucent golden ale with a stream of bubbles cascading upwards to one finger of off-white froth.

Aroma: Tart/sour yeast esters. A distinct dryness as well. Something a little off-putting as well, likely from the green bottle.

Taste: Semi-sweet up front with a moderate level of tartness. The finish is a little disheartening due to an off-flavor akin to wet dog. Nice dry bready flavor in the aftertaste. Not really any hop presence but wasn't expecting any. Enjoying the lack of sweetness that comes out in other lambics. 6% ABV seems kind of high but believable.

Mouthfeel: Between thin and medium in body with carbonation near the level of champagne but more quaffable. Average drinkability.

Final Thoughts: First experience with the style but a good one. Memorable for the dry tart flavor. Would I drink it again? Sure.

Pretty solid geuze, as expected. Consumed relatively new. It's not overly aged or cheesy tasting (if that's what you're looking for). Very acidic, tart, lemony sour apple characteristics with white pepper, hay, and general barn. Of course not much in the way of malts or hops and such. Very lively in carbonation and feel. Went well with some pasta, Pretty good example of the style.

2014 vintage poured from a corked and caged 750mL bottle into a SP lambic glass. pours a foggy orange to almost burnt orange with over three fingers of soapy white foam head. lots of funk on the nose. aged hops and light oak. taste has blue cheese, light green apple and a little bit of lemony tartness. medium-full mouthfeel. the sourness has most likely tamed down in the 10 year time span in the bottle but it’s still got a slightly acidic finish to it.

The dark amber body is halfway to opaque with a short white head that disperses to a denser, creamier but flat collar.

Plum, pear, and apricot qualities contribute to the tartness while fairly clean white oak threads contain a faint hint of walnut before coming to an herbal bitterness.

After having Morte Subite and Lindeman's Faro, this one's right oaky, tart and funky by comparison, with a solid chewiness leading to its bone dry swallow.

Best before: 07.12.2030. Bottled in 2010. 12 years aged. Poured clear with an incredibly rocky off white head. Light amber color. Full nose with funk, earthiness, and classic tartness. Taste is incredibly balanced with malt and barnyard funk. Highly, highly drinkable. An amazing brew that has aged to perfection.

375ml bottle into a straight glass. Best by 2034. Think I'm okay here.

Looks very good in the glass. Hazy, glassy, medium amber body with a persistent white head. Layers of lacing.

Mildly funky aroma.

On tasting, certainly sour, light fruit note. Somewhat funky, also on the dry side.

Mouth above medium. Finish was initially quite bitter, but this mellowed out as it warmed.

Overall, nice beer to have on a muggy afternoon. Pleasant sipper.

750ml bottle a few years old.

A lively gusher at cellar temp leads to a massive head of white foam in the glass. Persistent retention with plenty of tattered lacework. Earthy and minerally in the nose with cut grass, grapefruit pith, and lemongrass. Light bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. Bone-dry on the palate with shades of lemon and grapefruit with apple skins. Finishes barely tart and quenching.

Bottle from Rare Beer of the Month Club. Pours a clear light amber with toe fingers of rocky white head that sticks around, nice lacing, some small floaters, smell is barnyard hard candy, wet hay, lemon verbena, fresh cut grass, sour mulch, and oak, hints of sherry, overripe pineapple and honey, taste is baked apple and white grape flesh, bayberry, white grape must, mild hay and barnyard funk, oak, mildly grassy/lemony bitter finish, a feel is light, medium, bright carbonation, mild acidity, dry finish. A funky fruity elixir, elevated Ristocampo spumante bianco.

Dark pour for the style, nicely hazy, rich white head.

Aroma is crisp and bone dry, with sharp fruit mingling nicely with barnyard must.

Flavor is unexpectedly rich and variegated. Sweet, sharp apple start things off, getting spicy fast enough to prevent the sour nodes from becoming overwhelming. The end and finish are boffo, with sweet tart candy nodes of earth and super sour fruit and then a lingering, quenching dryness.

One of the busiest and yet most straightforward guezes I've ever come across. Definitely worth seeking out.

375 ml "champagne" bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 6.0%. Pours with an enormous white (possibly slightly off-white) head, which slowly reveals a beer of hazy deep golden colour. Lovely complex aroma of farmhouse and fermenting fruits, hints of oak and spices. The flavour is fairly sour and tart, with a dry finish. Some hops in the aftertaste. Good stuff!

Poured from 750 mL bottle into shaker pint glass. 2014 vintage.
A: Pours a mostly clear yellow hue with active carbonation jets fueling a 2-3 inch bubbly white head with decent retention. Some sediment dances in the carbonation jets.
S: Farmhouse funk, green apple, minerals (earthy and salty), lemon, and lime. Very aromatic.
T: Softly tart green apple and citrus zest, muted farmhouse funk, dry earthy minerals, and hints of white pepper and salt.
M: Light body. Delicately sweet, tart, dry, and a hint of salt. Effervescent and refreshing. Lingers nicely on the palate. There is a semblance to a light white wine.
D: What a wonderful example of style! Truly stupendous. It says on the bottle best before 16-11-2034, and I believe them. This has softened slightly over the past 7 years, but it still going very strong. Now, the bigger question is, why would you wait another decade or two to drink this?!
