A 375ml corked and caged bottle with a best before date of 20th November 2037. Poured into a Cantillon gueuze glass.
Appearance: A lightly hazy golden colour with a one finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly while leaving some curtain like lacing.
Aroma: Lemon and lime peel, citrus rind, funk, wet wood, straw, hay, and a touch of apple.
Taste: Sour, funky, musty, wet wood, oak, green apple, with a tart lemon lime finish.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Very nice easy drinking gueuze, with a good balance between the funk, oak, and tart citrus.

Bright saturated gold, visible carb trails ascending, spotty lace.
Leathery saddle, citric lemon aromas, wet wood, sourdough.
Similar flavors, old wood funk, vinous white grape, bright lemony top note.
Effervescent carb, bone dry minerality, lingering lemon and oak traces.
Well put together with expressive wild funkiness and balanced tartness.
Overall it’s not wildly different from Oud Beersel’s Oude Geuze, but a very interesting glimpse into the specific character of the old port barrels that they have used for many years.

Bottle: Poured a golden color lambic with a large white head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of funky yeast notes, oak and tart notes is pretty enjoyable. Taste is a complex mix of oak, funky yeast notes, light barnyard notes with some tart notes is really enjoyable. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Complex lambic with nice balance of complexity and drinkability.

Pours an unclear light orange with lots of visible carbonation and soft foam, more than usual for a gueuze.
Smell is dry and tart with notes of oranges, yeast, funk, apples and some white wine.
Taste is quite sour with lots of citrus and apples along with some mineral notes and hints of straw and wine. Long, dry finish. Very complex, but still approachable.
Mouthfeel is thin to medium with bright, sparkling carbonation.
Overall, a terrific gueuze that draws toward the wine end of the scale a bit.

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2018, Green Session. Aroma has funky lambic notes, farmhouse chracter and old wood barrel. Taste is sour, really dry, mineral and funky with a light sweetness on the finish.
