From Cerveza Belga, Almuñecar. In Teku glass. At lunch. With fries with eggs + chicken steaks. Good option when in the mood of a raspberry drink, even wife liked it. No trace of alcohol. Its more like a refreshment than a beer. Smooth body. Pleasant.

On tap. Ick! This is a rough one. Poured very colorful. The aroma and flavor were cloying and very artificial. The mouthfeel was light but somehow syrups and slick.

A 250ml bottle with a best before date of 4th May 2017, poured into a Moonzen teku glass.

Appearance: It poured a cloudy reddish pinkish orange colour with a two finger off white head that dissipated quickly and left some lacing.

Aroma: Sweet candy raspberry and strawberry with perhaps a touch of grape juice.

Taste: Sweet candied raspberries followed by apple juice. The finish is somewhat watered down such that any taste becomes really weak.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with moderate to high carbonation.

Overall: I’m actually fine with the artificial candy berry flavours, but that taste on the finish of being watered down is what disappoints me most.

Purchased in Japan and poured from a 250 ml bottle into a hexagonal glass.

Look: Very cloudy and opaque with a red-brownish chalky color. The head is composed of fine white bubbles and starts out about half an inch deep but quickly fades to a thin layer on the surface leaving no lacing.

Smell: Prickly and sour raspberry is very strong with a syrupy thickness. Buried beneath this is a faint fresh wheat smell.

Taste: Starts off with a sour tang accentuated by raspberry flavor. A little bit bitter aftertaste, reminiscent of the greens and chaff that might accompany a raspberry. The raspberry flavor is pretty powerful, but underneath it is the barest hint of that fresh wheat beer flavor and yeastiness.

Feel: Very light and carbonated. Feels like a soda or a bellini with the low ABV, overall very refreshing. The carbonation is lively on the tongue.

Overall: An interesting take on the witbier style, but the raspberry color/smell/flavor are all a bit too predominant and overshadow the underlying witbier itself.

Oh dear Lord, what *were* they thinking?
Again with the horrible, artificial fruit flavours - it manages to be nastier than Leffe Ruby, which is a pretty impressive achievement in its own right.

Hardly a witbier by any definition, this salmon colored brew flaunts little more than overwhelming raspberry aromatics with only a very slight acetic bite amidst the otherwise artificial soda pop like saccharinity and carbonation.

Certaintly quaffable but too one dimensional.

Bottle at Meneer Nilsson, Amsterdam, Netherlands

A: The beer is hazy rosé in color and has a light amount of carbonation. It poured with a thin whit head that died down and left a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of sweet raspberries are present in the nose.
T: Lie the smell, the taste is rather sweet and has flavors of raspberries-but of the artificial syrup type.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink and somewhat refreshing but the sweetness prevents it from being thirst quenching.

Colour is hazy deep pink (or light red? I don't know, I'm a man) with medium head that disappears fast. Aroma is fruity.

Taste followes aroma, quite artificial though. Lightly carbonated, as much as an carbonated Ice-Tea, or lemonade

Nothing special but if it's too early in the morning or another occasion where you shouldn't drink beer, that can save you the troubles

I should preface this review by saying that if it wasn't for Hoegaarden being the first beer I had that wasn't an adjunct lager, I probably wouldn't be reviewing this. Poured from a goofy pink mini can into a cheap wine glass...

A - Pours a hazy salmon color with a big fluffy pinkish-white head, that fizzles away after a minute or two. I really have to express my dislike with the packaging as well. Four packs of pink mini cans? I wonder what the target demographic here could be...

S - I don't even have to get in close to detect the stench. The aroma of steamed vegetables and cheap grains wafts up form the glass immediately following the pour. There is no real malt, and certainly no hop bouquet to be found, which is fine, but I don't even smell wheat or raspberry either. Terrible stink to this one.

T - Mild based of cheap adjuncts, with no real fruit or beer-like flavors beyond that, aside from maybe a touch of wheat. It's not just sweet, it's sugary. HFCS is present for sure... Honestly reading the ingredients on the side of the can is embarrassing. Concentrated fruit juice? Invert sugar? Acesulfame-potassium!? Is this even beer?

M - Light body, fizzy, inoffensive at best I guess.

D - I didn't exactly have high expectations coming in, and honestly this isn't even horrible, it's just not beer. This is certainly more akin to a soda than a beer. I don't hate it, but this is a joke of craft beer, and Hoegaarden should be embarrassed.

250ml can, 3% ABV, a single (dubbed 'Rosée' here) procured for a twoonie and a loonie (how could I pass that up?) at the best new liquor store in my formerly remote-seeming home town. Oh, and only 90 calories for all you concerned with your overindulgence over the past month. Me, I'm still at it.

This beer pours a cloudy, muddled pinkish-orange colour, with one finger of limply foamy dishwater beige head, which leaves a few instances of bleeding sandbar lace around the glass as it hastily fades away.

It smells predominantly of semi-sweet green raspberries, some musty leafiness, a further blended, tart fruity character, a very soft wheaty graininess, and flinty, plastic, sugary notes. The taste is rather sweet raspberry, strawberry, and apple puree, another sort of alien metallic sugar essence, faint grainy wheat malt, some untethered acidic citrus, and very little, if any, hop offset.

The bubbles are rather sedate, the body a sugar-enhanced medium weight, and kind of pithy, but smooth enough, I suppose. It finishes still sweet - mixed-berry fruit, fake sugar - and little else.

While not all that offensive - it's really just a slightly malty fruit beverage- it's the various soda-pop manufacturing tactics so evident in the list of ingredients that put me off the most. A patently unnecessary dumbing down of a more or less venerable witbier name.

On tap served in a Hoegaarden pint glass at the Belgian Beer Fest @ K Village, Bangkok, Thailand.

Pink in color blends with some ruddy, orange hues, natural cloudy showcase with thick velvety head withal excellent retention, a head is not totally white but slight tinges with raspberry hue. Many clusters of lacing patch left once it dissipated.

Raspberries dominant mingle with fruity esters, some spice from clove and coriander, a bit citrus.

Also dominant by raspberries sweetness with aid from fruit estery, citrus zesty. Hop bitterness is almost unnoticeable.

The body is medium, smooth with proper crispness but not as refreshing as its original wheat beer.

Like attenuating version of the original Hoegaarden that rarefies some characters and bring the added fruit portion upfront. Anyway, still an easy and enjoyable drink.

A: The color is deep pink and the liquid is murky. The tall light pink creamy head dissipates slowly into rather nice lacings.

S: Rich fruityness; raspberries galore! Sweet wheat gives it a ripe banana smell.

T: Sweet malt and wheat, ripe bananas. The raspberries are overpowering everything else.

M: Sour aftertaste, but also a bit sweet. Body is light and carbonation moderate.

O: An interesting Wit with a lot of raspberries.

250 ml. bottle. A fruit beer made not with lambic, but with white beer.Pink salmon thick head, with a pinksih foam that doesn´t hold much. Smell of raspberries, with a hint of corainder and spices. Too sugary in the palate, though one can feel some sourness, taste is esentially raspberry. I can't say I find it interesting, give the real Hoegaarden anyday.

12oz Bottle

Appearance - Hazy pink/red colour with an average size slightly pink and white head. I can't see much carbonation and there is some fairly decent lacing. The head lasted 3-4 minutes.

Smell - raspberries, sugar

Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and a of course most of the taste is made up of raspberries. I've had some other raspberry beers before and this one tasted less artificial. There is also lots of sweet sugar taste and some tart citrus notes. It finishes with a sweet raspberry aftertaste.

Overall - Another bottle that was a gift to me. Not something I would normally buy for sure. It's not great but it was better than their Citron beer.

(bottle courtesy of Fata2683!!). Pours a cloudy apricot color with off-white head. Aroma is loaded with tart raspberries, hard candy and some wheat. Taste is sweet from the raspberry and malts. Thin bodied with a smooth fruity finish. I know its not cool to like this but I think this is a super-easy drinking beer and it tastes great. Heaven forbid a fruit beer is ranked highly.

Note: This was the 3% version available in the UK.

Strawberry pink in colour, with a small, pink head that has good retention. Raspberry smelling with hints of strawberries too although neither is particularly strong. Some spices in there too. Raspberry tasting & really quiet nice going by the initial sip at least until it becomes sickening, some strawberry too and finishes with a tiny bit of bitterness. Light bodied and containing a little fizz thanks to the high carbonation. This one is very nice to begin with although ends up tasting like a sugary syrup after a while, thus becoming quite sickening in such a large bottle.

Served this in my Hoegaarden Rose tulip glass.

Beer pours a vibrant pink to light red with a creamy/frothy white head, and hold nicely.

The smell is that of strong fruits, slight wheat, and sugar.

Tasting the beer was an experience. It is not a kriek, but my mind was only expecting that result. The flavors are gentle, at least at first, and coat the palate with the taste of raspberries, other light berries, sugars, and a simpleness of the wheat.

The beer left my mouth feeling dry, similar to that of an original Hoegaarden, and after a single bottle almost felt like the flavors of the beer took over and sat heavily. A little too sweet to drink more than one.

On tap into a Hoegaarden tulip in Brugge...Pours a dirty pink with the faintest pink head...The aroma is faint raspberries, but generic and boring...The taste is very sweet, generic candied raspberries, easy to drink but to sweet for me.

25cl can Hoegaarden Rosée, 3% ABV

A: Orange-pink colour, misty, small but dense and solid head.

S: red fruits, but strangely more cherries than raspberries. A bit artificial maybe

T: Very very sweet a candy-like artificial cherry flavour. but the sweetness is overpowering everything.

M/D Good mouthfeel carbonation is about right, not to sticky. But way too sweet to drink alot, alcohol hardly noticeable.

Typical for the new generation of fruitbeers they have been making in Belgium for at least 10 years. Aimed at teenagers that start to drink alcohol (which they can legally do here). An attack on the bacardi breezers and smirnoff ices on this world, who already are mostly gone.

Nose of raspberry that is still quite pronounced with a mouth slightly acid and sweet. The taste of beer is not present but we feel certain keys wheat specific Witbier. There is a little bitter, somewhat weak in the finish. And although no noticeable saturation excessive sugar or syrup, beer is too much to think of grenadine to be significant.

Poured from an 11.2 ounce bottle purchased at a small bottle shop in Brussels (I think it was called "350 Belgian beer Shop" or something like that) and poured into a clean, clear glass.

A 2 inch pink foam head over a pink grapefruit color body. Different but appropriate given that it is a Witbier flavored by juices.

S Nice light raspberry smell. Sweet, soft, inviting.

T Nice light raspberry taste over the solid foundation of a nice Hoegaarden Wtibeir. Exactly as advertised. Excellent.

M Full with raspberry sweetness.

D Excellent, and you get exactly what you would expect by looking at the label and knowing what Hoegaarden tastes like.
