My wife and I were in the area and we stumbled into this place. To be honest I didn't even know they had a beer section until I wandered to the back of the store.

Really, not a bad selection, for a non beer related store. Lots of regional beers and some imports as well. Nothing special, but respectable enough for what this place is. Prices seemed a little high, but not overly so. Not much in the way of service either, not that we really needed any.

Overall, this is not a place that I would seek out if I am looking to buy beer, but it is a nice surprise to kill a few minutes if in the area anyway...

Typical setup for a Cost Plus. Beer located in the back of the store near the wine. Lots of locals represented like, Terrapin, D-R, Mother Earth, Sweetwater, French Broad, etc. Others from Ska, Rogue, etc. Decent European brews represented. Most of them are average selections, but for a furniture-forward store, I'd say this is a good selection. As always, the glassware selection is top notch. Lots of labeled pint glasses as well as snifters, tulips, mugs, etc. Decent place. Not the best in town, but one I'd come back to if in the area.

This was a decent enough place, but to be honest really nothingthat special. World Market is usually good to find a few decent imports but thats about it. The prices always seem to be a bit high and to be honst the help is virtually non existant. I would ay this is a decent stop if you are in the shopping center, but to seek it out as a stand alone beer store, forget it. There is really only one true stop in charlotte and thats over to Mikes. If you go anywhere else you will always be looking down. This again was decent enough but nothing really remarkable.

I've visited this store numerous times now... but never for the beer selection. They do have some goodies but nothing out of the ordinary and nothing you couldn't find elsewhere. I was very surprised when I first visited and saw their beer selection though, it was definately unexpected. Most of their selections were dusty and I seriously doubt there is much turnover. None of it is refridgerated and there were no employees to offer help in the beverage area.

World Market also has a decent wine selection for anyone interested in such things. Basically I go here for all the other trinkets that are available... this store makes for a great last minute gift purchase. All kinds of things are sold here... housewares, furniture, kitchen supplies, foods & snacks, etc. As the name implies.. it is a world market. Though if I just wanted some good brews I wouldn't be going here.
