Swag Out Stout aged in Bourbon treated Canadian Oak barrels.

Near jet black, some light brown comes through, ring of tan head with some lace on the glass. Smell is of roasted malt, coffee and milk chocolate, vanilla, fair bit of oak, whisky/bourbon notes, fairly oak forward with out being over the top. Taste has flavours of chocolate and vanilla, roasted and charred notes, oak, vanilla, fudge/chocolate cake aftertaste, whisky notes in the finish, occasional anise/liquorice flavours. Light carbonation, full body, medium feel. One of my favourite House Ales so far, incredibly easy drinking and hope to see this again one day.

On cask at Cask Days 2012, into a pint glass.

Black with a fairly dense deep brown head. Good retention, mild lacing. Nose of bourbon, oak, vanilla and almond liqueur. Some roast. Taste is roasty, bitter, bourbon, some obscure dark fruit character that I was a bit adverse to. Some ethanol and a fruity and bourbony finish. Medium feel, low carbonation. An OK BBA'd stout, but not the best one on display at the event.
