Enjoyed from a 750ml bottle marked Foxy '07. Pours an orangish amber with a silky tan head. Exceptional nose has tart lactic fruits, sour cherries, oak, barnyard funk, sweet candy malts and red wine. Taste is equally complex. Great finish and depth. This is by far the best wild ale Jason Yester has ever created, Trinity or Bristol. It has a nice mouth puckering tartness that the other Skull and Bones beers lack yet doesn't have the overly acidic vinegar flavor that I find so off putting in most of the Trinity sours. One of the top sours to ever come out of Colorado. Really nice, wish I had more!

Shared with JLindros and company at the last whale tasting. Reviewed from notes. 2007 vintage

A - Poured into my Kate the Great tulip a light clear light raspberry berry hue with a thin quarter inch head that fades to leave a super thin halo.

S - Wow, okay. Big vinegar notes, raspberry jam pops out at the nose too. Nice juicy raspberry.

T - Like the nose this is incredibly tart, lots of super sour raspberry here along with vanilla thanks to barreling. Nice wood and earthyness. Quite acidic. Oh yeah, I dig this alot. ALOT.

M - Mouthfeel is super tart, puckering sour tart. Thinnish with hardly any carbonation.

O - Overall, this was super tart, vanilla vinegar here. Got another bottle or two of this. So fucking good. Love it.

Thanks to rudzud for sharing. '07 vintage.

Pours with not head, but not surprised, over a clear honey brown colored beer.

Nose is nice and tart sour with juicy raspberry, light funk, hint syrupy with raspberry juice.

Taste is quite tart, lots of sour raspberry, sweet honey like, very acidic as well. Light bready malty finish with juicy raspberry and light syrupy with a bit of funk, and a little phlemy.

Mouth is lighter bodied, no carb.

Overall pretty good, nice tart raspberry flavors, some sour, acidic and even a bit of honey sweetness.

The pour is a cloudy dark orange color with a white head. Nose is tart with lots of lemon, lemon zest, and citrus. There’s a bit of grapefruit, yellow plum, and maybe some grapes. A light straw and oak aroma, too. The flavor is highly sour and acidic. Very dry and crisp. Some citrus fruitiness such as lemon and grapefruit, maybe some grape, too. A light musty quality. Really nice.

2007 vintage. Thanks! Snifter.

A: Dark orange with a reddish tinge and an inch of slowly fading white.

S: Strong vinegar profile accompanies blood orange and passion fruit, grape and plum. The grape note becomes quite pronounced when the beer warms up. Lightly oaky.

T: Strong acetic presence with faint acetone notes. There's a good amount of vinegar in the flavor that's coupled with an upper low lactic sourness. Simultaneously sweet and tart. Dark fruit reminds me of plum and grape. I also get some apple and blood orange. The beer is moderately tart throughout.

M: Upper low carbonation with a lower medium body. The mouthfeel is dry and tannic.

Overall: The beer has a great aroma and a nice fruit profile. It's acetic but not harsh.

We tasted this fresh with other Bristol brews. I don't think we had a bad bottle but just tasted off for a wild. I would love to try it again assuming we just had a bad bottle. Just reviewing it based on the tasting at the time
