I'd call this one an IPA, nice crisp hoppiness. Excellent! Had a pint on tap at the Hyland Orchard Brewery and bought me a case. Nice place to visit, very friendly in the Taproom and a scenic location. A good family destination - many animals and a huge apple orchard.

Presentation: 12 oz. brown with no freshness date to be found.

Appearance: Crystal clear and light golden amber in colour with a frothy, rocky cream coloured head that sticks a bit.

Smell: Fresh grain and malt aromas with hints of fruit.

Taste: Very smooth with a prickly carbonation. Pretty big on malt, grain and biscuit with a touch of fruitiness. Hop bitterness is just enough to balance with some oily and leaf flavours to that finish into the after. The after also turns very clean with faded residual malt flavours.

Notes: Hyland should make this their flagship brew, being that this is a big improvement from their first creation (Amber Ale). Easy drinking, quite flavourful and well balanced with a superb yet subtle hop finish.

22 oz brown bomber with no freshess date. Thin layer of yeast sediment on the bottom of the bottle.

A- Pale golden-yellow with a very faint haze ... half decent head that dissapates pretty quick to a thin lace.

S- Mild citrus zest and a dry doughy malt int he aroma.

T&M- Nice smoothness, moderate body ... almost fluffy with a perfect amount of carbonation.Thin pale maltiness with a rough husk in the finish. Clean palate with virtually no fruitiness, warming alcohol in the back. Ample bitterness from the hops, bitter orange peel and deep herbal flavors come to mind. Finishes semi-dry.

D- A solid middle of the road APA. The maltiness leaves more to be desired IMO. Worth a try ...

Pours a clear pale copper color with a great looking sticky, white head on top that sinks rather slowly and leaves a bit of lace behind. Soft piney hop aroma with a nice bready maltiness in the back. Opens up with a nice gentle citric hoppiness with slight grapefruit character that carries through to the end where it gets a bit stronger in a bitter burst. Smooth bready malt that is barely noticeable but balances the brew nicely. Medium bodied with an easy drinking smoothness that would make this a nice session brew. Rather drinkable, not something I would seek out but certainly worth drinking on occasion.

Pours a thick creamy head wich doesnt last very long leaving hardly any lace. Sweet malt and a light sharpness from the hops with a sweet citrus finish.
This is a very medium bodied pale ale. Hardly hoppy at all.

Nice mix of hops and malt, lot of carbonation but head didn't last long. On the lighter side, easy to drink.

Stopped by the brewery to seek out new beer, but no one was home. Good thing there was a huge Yankee liquors around the corner fully stocked. This pale ale has a nice farm straw color. The aroma is a bit biscuity, but that is just a facade. The clean crisp spicy hop character of this brew makes it a winner. Very drinkable and quite enjoyable.

22 oz bomber that I purchased in Sturbridge at Yankee Spirits. The bottle is screen printed as opposed to having a paper label. The first thing that stikes me is the color. It much lighter than I had expected. Dark yellow with a good size white foamy head.

The smell is a bit metallic with some of the hops coming through. The taste is very refreshing. Good solid malt backbone with some hops mixed in to balance it out. The metallic taste comes in again at the end for me. This is definitely a beer that I purchase again. Six packs of this would be nice.

All in all a nice brew. A very nice golden appearance. Medium fruity, hoppy smell that invites you to drink. Taste is just a tad bitter, with a slight aftertaste. Mouthfeel is good, with a lightness that is followed by a nice hoppy bitterness. Easy to drink, while reminding you that this has a nice hoppy pale ale texture. Seems like an excellent choice for a nice hot summer day. Glad to see a good offering such as this in my home area.

Pours a nice amber color, the head and lace " ceremonious". Nice malt nose, floral tones, citrus, clean and fresh. Front is malt, middle is medium, the finish is droughty, moderately astringent, pertainly hopped. A fine session beer, and one that would be a mainstay in my "Stable", if I could find it here.

What a great surprise! A very pale gold with good clarity. Healthy carbonation forms a big head that lasts. Nice fruity american hop aroma with a little hop sting could be a little stronger, but certainly is nice. Taste is very balanced with a little nuttiness to the malt character. Really pleasant creamy body with comfy carbonation on the tongue. Very reminiscent of concord pale ale. I could drink a whole bunch of these. A superb pale ale.

Plush white head on an unexpectedly golden hued ale. Some unexpected suspended solids in the ale. "Maybe this won't be soo good," I thought.

But I got past the appearance and enjoyed this "American" pale. Aroma was a nicely balanced mix of sweet malt and tangy hop, neither terribly assertive, but both clearly notable.

Dry, medium-bodied presence in the mouth. Malt characteristic is of light grains; perhaps this and the color make it "American" to the brewers.

Nothing was out of place. Definitely wanted another one right away.

Pours a light golden color (a little lighter than usual) with a white foamy head. The aroma is light and yeasty with a touch of pale malt and faint hops.

Taste is light and sweet. Light, very pale malt topped with a very light touch of hops, not very much at all. Biscuity sweetness dominates, not much bitterness at all. Very faint elements of honey, pine and a yeasty citrus develop after a while of drinking this. Not nearly enough hop presence to really round out the pale ale style.

Mouthfeel is medium, smooth and easy to drink. Not bad at all but, personally, I don't think it's quite interesting enough to hold my attention. If I just saw it unnamed without the bottle, I would think it to be a slightly heavy lager. Thanks to ppoitras for this sample.

Thanks to hopdog for this 22 oz bomberÂ…
Appears a light gold with a small white head and scattered lacing.
Smell is of slightly oxidized and flowery with mild sourness in there.
Taste is of the same off aromas with mild maltiness.
Mouthfeel is lactic and slightly sour with sweetness.

12oz. bottle: The name says Pale, and that is a pretty good assesment of the beer. The color is pale: more yellow than anything else. It does have a bit of a head. Some hops to the nose. Also some to the taste. Some maltiness also. More of a light Pale Ale than anything else. Probably best as a micro starter beer.

golden honey amber with a nice sized white head.
warmly grainy caramel with a grassy hop aroma.
the taste has caramel sweetness, a little buttery toffee on the back end, with floral hop bitterness, balancing. there is a little fruitiness with warmth mostly a soft apple flavor. nice and simple, but very well executed.
light side of medium bodied with moderate carbonation suits this beer well.
very drinkable and quenching. this seems to lean a lot more to the english pale ale side of things, and honestly i'm quite impressed, hyland has done a real nice job here

A very clean yellow beer. Has a bif foamy bright white head and good lace. There is a nice sweet cereal malt aroma with a hint of spiceyness in the background. A very good balance between the light sweet bready maly and an easy spicey hop character. All in all a tastey easy to drink Ale.

Thanks to ppoitras for this fine APA

golden yellow, sl hazy, nice billowy white head
floral hop aroma adequate, no, it's plenty well balanced in this pale ale. Brisk carbonation, firm hop bite with lots of citrus that disappears quickly and is replaced by soft warm malt... malt... malt... slightly syrupy in the finish, medium to light bodied.

overall: nice session ale.

Got this on BIF20. Thanks Pete!

Pours a hazy yellow color, decent head to start that dimishes to a thin head, good lacing on this one.

Smells similar to green apples, slight tart aroma that carrys overy into the aroma.

Tastes slightly tart, almost saison like, dry and slightly tart. I like that, it's different enough, but not way out there.

Good, clean carbonation and mouthfeel. Some prickily bubbles dance on the tounge.

This is a good, slightly different than the normal beer.

Bomber. Yellow-gold, clear, nice lasting white head. Fruity aroma with a touch of hops. Slightly overcarbonated at the beginning, but settling down nicely as the time passes. Pale malt sweetness and citrus hops balance out nicely. I may also be picking up a slight bit of oxidation here, but not too much to detract. The hops linger on the palate in the finish. Not a bad drinking brew.

Pours a golden copper with yellow highlights. 2-finger head with a white head that leaves spots of lace on the glass.
Aroma of cracked wheat, caramel and some grassy hops.
Flavor is mix of wheat and caramel that slides effortlessly into a sliding but fairly sharp citurs and resiny bittering.
Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with a really spiced-up hop finish.
Drinkability is relatively high. Solid standard Pale Ale with a touch more spiciness in the hops than most. Very nice.
Thanks to PPoitras for the sample.

22 oz bomber.
Pours a golden copper color with orange undertones. A dense white head tops this one. Good lacing and good retention.
Smell is dominated by toasty malt, fruit (apples, pears), caramel, and citrusy hops.
Taste is earthy hops, bready malts with a toasted quality, fruit (apples, citrus, pears) and caramel.
Overall, a very good APA. I would have this again, and again, and again were it available to me.

22oz bottle purchased at the brewery store.

First imperial pint glass pours with a 1 1/2" slightly off-white head, with excellent retention and good foamy lacing. Brew is clear and dark gold, with a lightly malty aroma with tinges of hops character. Taste is sweet malts upfront, and a crisp hops presence dominates the middle and end of the flavor experience. Good mouthfeel and drinkability.

Found this remarkably similar to the on-tap product, and I think that's a good thing. Enjoy.

Brew poured to a somewhat cloudy dull golden color with a ridiculously large white fluffy head that left chucks of lacing down the side of the glass. Something might be a little wrong with the carbonation on this one, as it seems to be a little out of control. The aroma is ok, Malt, spicy hops and dough like scent. The taste is ok, husk like flavors from the malt, biscuit dough like taste and a end of hops. Overall this brew was fair, not a favorite and one I will probably not get again unless I could find it on tap. Side note, very carbonated.

This pale ale is a rather pleasant experience. It pours a nice golden, slightly amber, coloration. It is nicely carbonated, with a descent foamy head which sticks around for the duration. Smell is faintly of hops. Tatse is smooth, with a bitter hint. A pleasant beer. I wish I had bought more. Enjoy.
