Nice looking beer. Big, lasting head the was rocky and left copious amounts of lacing clinging to the glass.
Roasted malts, caramel and sweetnesss dominate the nose. Taste was very full in the mouth. Smooth with nice, subtle hints of chocolate and roastiness. Nice, mild bitter in the end to balance this one off nicely.
Enjoyable to say the least.

It was dark in the bar, but it appears to be a proper dark chestnut brown with a thin white ring by the time we got it. Served room temp which was in the upper 70's, so it was probably too warm.
Oak aromas, hints of white wine. Semi-sweet chocolate and a bit of caramel. Low hop aroma.
The semi-sweet chocolate hits first followed by the oak/white wine flavors. Earthy hops take a back seat, but are present to provide a bit of balance.
Full-bodied. Slick, semi-oily mouthfeel. Low carbonation from the cask. Flavors don't linger for long.
Fairly drinkable at only 6%. Good flavors keep the palate interested. If it were slightly chilled to about the mid 60's temp, it would have been much better.

This beer appeared in a standard pint glass a deep rich very slightly brown/orange color with a (naturally) creamy off white head. It had a mild toasty breadlike smell with a subtle tealike aroma. The taste was a toasty clean malt e with a pleasing mild english style hoppiness and a creamy round silky smooth mouthfeel from the nitro. Overall a creamy pleasing brown ale that asks to be guzzled, but at at 5.4% probably shouldn't be.

A clear, deep rich, very slightly brown-orange Brown Ale with a creamy, off-white head. The smell is hops and tea, with a slight toastedness. The taste is tea-like, along with a very mild sweet maltiness, and slightly toasted, a hint of fruit towards the end, with a tea-like lingering finish. The body was round and moderately thin in my mouth. Overall, I felt this was more like an English Ale than a Brown Ale.

Moon River's description on the menu: "The 'toasty' flavor of our Bay St. Brown Ale is built on a foundation of Imported English pale malt and specialty roasted American malt called Victory. A rather spare addition of East Kent Golding Hops give balance to the predominately malty palate. Fermentation of the Bay St. Brown yeilds a distinctive fruitiness from our house strain of English Ale yeast. Unlike normally carbonated beers, we 'nitro pour' the Brown Ale to accentuate its creamy smooth mouthfeel."
