I finally ventured into this Yardhouse with my wife. We stopped for a drink on our way to dinner at Javiers. If you're at the Spectrum and need a good pint, this is the place to come to.

I've already wrote about what i think about Yardhouses in my Costa Mesa Yardhouse review so i wont repeat here.

This one is much larger than the Costa Mesa one. Large eleptical bar in the center, like a race track. The taps are in the middle and there's over 100... quite nice inside. High ceilings, dimly lit, many large screens, a vibrant thrum of social life going on here. We came on a Friday and it was packed, but a good crowd. A bit yuppy but it was fine.

Being that it was very crowded i was prepared for crappy service at the bar. I stood behind some people in bar stools and had a bartender asking me what i wanted in about 60 seconds and it was like that for the rest of the evening. I ended up having an arrogant bastard, Maudite and a delirium tremens.

While there are many taps here and many macros, there are also a lot of micros. You will definitely find a beer you'll like, english, belgian, canadian. You wont be disappointed. And actually, you need to come during happy hour to enjoy $3 pints. While the Yardhouse isnt a destination per se, if you want to take a date or some friends and hang out somewhere that isnt a beer bar, this is the place to come to. It caters to the masses agreed, but a beer geek is catered to as well. Cheers.

200 or so taps makes for a pretty good bar, no matter what. Toss in a good food selection and you're set. Albeit somewhat formulaic, the Yard House succeeds at that. The atmosphere does err a bit towards Disneyland, it's a loud cavernous space, and you are just one person amongst throngs filtering through the door that night, but I've certainly always had a good time here. As for beer, I sometimes feel that the 200 taps are plagued by a slew of mediocre imports. The American micros and in particular West Coast selections are of a higher quality and offer a lot of solid choices, although there's nothing terribly obscure. The food is a definite strong point, and everything I've had from their menu has been highly satisfying. Service is relatively good considering how busy they often are. All told, maybe not a one-of-a-kind beer destination, but definitely worth spending a good amount of time at. One last note: get rid of the guy in the men's toilet room handing out cologne. Not necessary.

Absolutely beautiful yuppie styled upper end bar with wonderful food selection and incredible wrap-around bar that had over 200 different beers on tap...some also available as six packs to take home sales.
Selection was incredible...everything you could hope or imagine so far as styles and variety. Especially impressive was the selection of belgiums available at The Yardhouse. A particular weakness of mine that is seldom satistifed when I go out to drink.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Service was quick and attentive.
Enjoyable yuppie experience.

I met a few friends here before the Jimmy Buffett concert. We had a few hours to waste and all of us had been to Buffett concerts before and we did not have any reason to relive the extreme partying going on in the parking lot before the show. It is fun, but after a few shows it can wear on a person. It is much better to spend the afternoon enjoying some pints in a quality beer hall. Even if the beer hall is extremely corporate.

This Yard House is located in an very large mall with so many shops and restaurants that a person could get lost. In fact, I have been here before, years ago, and I thought the mall was large. It has gotten larger. Us Americans love our malls. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing? I do know there is a place in this mall to get a few pints of quality beer. That is a good thing.

This Yard House is quite large. The style is typical of every YH I have been to. A large eliptical bar with many taps in the middle. Plenty of booths on the side and tables where they fit in. There are also many tvs for the sports viewer. In fact this YH has a tv station area for the staff to keep track of what sports and shows are on at any given time. When you walk in look to your right and you will see many small monitors displaying what they are presenting on the monitors in the dining and bar area.

This may be enjoyable for some and others may not care, but if you are seated in a booth on the right of the entrance there are small windows which show the cooler where the kegs are stored. A person can figure out that the beer lines go from the cooler in large tubes connected to the ceiling and then down to the kegs. All beers are served too cold here.

I had not been to a YH in a few years. The food was good, but the portions were inadaquate. We first ordered a few appetizers, thinking this would be enough before the concert. The food was of good quality but there was not enough of each appetizer to satisfy the group. Some of us ended up ordering extra appetizers or entrees to satiate our hunger. A bit more for the price would be nice. Good quality food, even if the portions seemed small.

Our service was good but not great. When we got there the place was packed at the bar. We were quickly seated at a large table. Our waitress was attentive but a bit too quick for our mellow style. She would take an order from one person and be gone before another person could order. Her timing was off. Speed kills. Our waitress needed to settle down. She was very nice but too high strung.

The beer selection is very good. No one is going to find obscure beer here but this YH had a very good selection. Not too many repeats on the taps and not one beer that a person at our table ordered was missing. As far as the group was concerned, we had: IPAs, Belgians, Lambics, Browns, Dark Ales, Pale Ales and then some. A good quality selection.

This is a Yard House, so who knows what to expect. Overall, they have a good tap selection and some quality food. I don't search out Yard Houses, but if they are in the mix they are definately worth the stop. We had a fine time before the Jimmy Buffett concert. Just to let you know, JB put on a fine show and we had a great time. He is quite a showman.

Located in a gigantic outdoor mall area in Irvine. Crowd is a bit pretentious for my tastes - more people seemed to be sipping their foo-foo martinis than actually enjoying the beer selection. The beer selection is the reason to bear the crowds and horrendous parking - over a hundred taps, with all the local beers covered pretty well. Service was fine, but certainly nothing outstanding. As for the food, some was really good, some disappointing. The pepper crusted filet was quite tasty, but my seafood pasta didn't taste very fresh.

Definitely a decent place to grab a pint, but you could save a few bucks by eating elsewhere.

The Yardhouse - Irvine is located in this enormous mall of I-5 in Irvine. It is an enormous place. Big beautiful rectangular bar down the middle of the place with tables everyhwere. I think the tap count was 110 but only about 25 would be interesting to BA's. Had majority of west coast micros including one or two from Hawaii. Interesting though they had no Stone at it right down the road (sort of?)
Place is a little too sleek and dimly light for me and the crowd was really young, I mean like 21 years young. I was there on a Monday night and no one was there so I got lots of attenton once the 2 bartenders got an idea I was here to try a wide variety of beers and drop some cash on dinner. Only one of the bartenders knew anything about beer.
Food was good to very good although menu was fairly basic, did have few interesting sounding dishes.
There is alot better places to get beer in the area but if your stuck in Irvine for business then you could definitely do worse. Lots of other good restaurants a short walk away.
