Poured on-tap and served in a tumbler pint, the beer is a pale, hazed, yellow coloring that is almost completely opaque, with a filmy, clingy, white head. Nose of lemon, clove, and a bready background. Flavors are typical of a Hef, with hints of sour in the backbone, mild spicing of clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and banana and citrus sweetness. Grainy and sweet aftertaste, with a clean finish. Smooth, light bodied, making it extremely easy to drink.

First had: on tap at their brewery

Poured a cloudy, pale, straw-yellow with some fizzy carbonation and a fluffy white cap of a head that dissipated substantially. Yeasty, bready aroma, a bit diacetyl-y, some undertones of banana esters. The taste follows the aroma basically, bready, banana and light citrus, hints of spice, and a little harsh bite. Light bodied and fairly easy to drink, but not really something I'd get more than once.

On tap at Vermont Pub & Brewery on 6/12/11.

A - Cloudy pale golden body with a billowy white cap of fluff that retained well and deposited drops of thick, spotty lace around the glass.

S - Aroma is akin to sourdough bread or whole grain popcorn with a hint of salt, although there is spicy clove notes and more traditional Hefe qualities present, such as ripe banana.

T - Citrusy, bready and grainy initial flavor with some saltiness and a hint of spicy clove. This really reminds me of popcorn up front. However, notes of ripe banana come to the forefront in the backend, giving the finish a more traditional Hefe flavor paired with just the slightest amount of tartness.

M - Light bodied and softly carbonated with very subtle tartness on the palate. Finish is salty with minimal bitterness.

D - Beetlejuice is light and refreshing with lots of character. Don't go in expecting a classic Hefe. Instead, think light pale wheat beer combined with Hefe and Berliner Weiss. I was pleasantly surprised by this brew.
