Served on tap at the Vermont Pub & Brewery. The Bombay Grab appeared a bright golden color, capped with just a bit of wispy white head. Aroma is citrusy and full of fresh hops, very little malt detectable in the nose. Taste is quite hoppy with floral and grapefruit flavor coming through in a big way. Malt tries to make a play but is mostlly rejected at the net, finish is crisp and bittter. Body is medium to almost lighter for an IPA, but pretty tasty stuff.

Had a couple of these after Session 2 of the VBF. A decent, middle of the road IPA. Should have had more of these and skipped dinner. Served in a pint glass the beer was a hazy gold color with a small head that nevertheless left some spotty lacing. It had a citrus aroma and a grapefruit taste. Malt also in the taste, pretty balanced beer. Enjoyed it.

A rich blonder beer crowned with a thin, sticking, creamy, whispy white head. Floral / citrus hop aroma. Mouthfeel is watery, comes across as a thin beer. Bitter, raw, floral, herbal, leafy hop character upfront ... followed by a thin malty sweetness, some fruitiness and toasted / biscuit flavours. A rindy, salty bitterness comes full circle. Quite hoppy and bitter actually, leading to a grainy finish.

A dairly traditional English IPA (if compared to ones that originate from GB), but a tad too thin for my liking.

on tap at the brewery, arrived with a fairly minor light tan head, muddy medium brownish amber, a few sips reveals nice looking window paines of lace. Mild leafy hop nose. Easy drinking IPA, respectable hop presence, but not ever reaching above a Brit. style level. Magnum, Simcoe and cascades advertized here, but the hops seemed a tad muted to call this one an AIPA. Perhaps "Vermont style", but not close to a freshy SD style IPA. Eh, worth a try but nothing special going on here.

Picked up a growler on my visit to the Waterbury/Burlington area...I have been here quite a number of times, so I did not waste time. Ran it, grabbed a sample of this one and away I went w/ a growler...filled on 6/8.
Pours a bright golden orange..a little cloudy w/ less than a half finger of head...due to this one sitting a bit too long I suppose.
The aroma is stinky buds at first...not quite skunk like, but very floral. A nice malt sweetness as well...mainly caramel or toffee.
Taste is very enjoyable...although less than what one might expect after the first few whiffs. Regardless, a highly quaffable IPA w/ well balanced components...very juicy w/ a slight bitter finish and the carbonation if perfect for the style.
Mouthfeel is a bit thin, which also helps me throw them back.
I would enjoy this IPA on any given occasion and it is my "go to" brew when hitting up the Vermont Pub & Brewery.

On tap, poured into a pint glass.

Pours a deep amber with almost no head at all. Has a nice bitter nose with some solid earthy/floral notes.

Taste is bitter, but at 77IBUs it's not too over the top but still has a good complexity to it. Mouthfeel is a bit watery and the only place this is really lacking but it's still a pretty easy drinker.

Had it on cask and to be honest it was just so-so. Smelled nice enough, and certainly had a great hop bite, and nice balance with the malts, but there was a lingering sour aftertaste from this beer, which I suspect shouldn't have been. The same sourness was noted in another cask offering I had during the same visit. I would rate it higher if I had a better experience, but in my opinion a cask ale should taste great served at the originating brewery, and this one did not.

Had at Vermont Pub & Brewery, amber color, clear, with a thin white head.

Maltier aroma, but backbone of bitter and floral hops. Caramel and dough sweetness upfront, bit of pine and floral hops, finishes bitter and wet on the palate.

An old school IPA that was pretty benchmark for the style two decades ago. Not really worth it today, IMO.

Vermont Pub- Bombay Grab IPA

Appearance- Yellow with no head.
Smell- Light floral perfume. Very faint rose, pine, and grapefruit tones.
Taste- Very weak, very light grapefruit, tangerine flavor. More sugar than hop flavor.
Mouthfeel- Watery with sugar and little hop dryness or bitterness. Bland!

Overall- The biggest let down beer at the VT pub! Don't bother with it!

This pours a cloudy orange yellow with a nice tan head. The smell is a very strong citrus and pine hop aroma. The taste is also very hoppy with a citrus grapefruit and pine flavor. The m/f is light ,but a little watery,OK,but not perfect. This is a classic English IPA and I will go to the Vermont Pub to quaff a few of these again soon.

New on menu. Little head, hoppy, cascade a good choice for aroma and taste and 75 IBU. OK for an IPA, and better than average here. In fact, have this if you are stopping in. Strong bitterness masks any flaws. One dimensional. Late in the session by now.

I'd like to start by saying how great of a place the VT pub and brewery is. All types of eclectic people just hanging out to do one thing... Have a good time and drink fresh good tasting brews. i got stuck on this IPA.

it pours a very clear deep amber color and has a thin head. smells of earthy citrus, and has a complex bitter/ floral nose.

not as bitter and floral as most ipa's in taste however, the taste was more light bodied and citrus for easy drinkability, the mouthfeel of this beer was extremely pleasant. it had a clear refreshing body going down the throat and just a little bit of bite on the tongue.

Burlington is certainly worthy of being noted as one of the best beer towns in the U.S

On tap at brewpub itself. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice looking hazy burnt orange color with a slim finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing on the glass. The smell started off with some sweet grassy hops rolling over on some semi-sweet citrus hops, definitely playing a subtle low-key effect over some sweet malt. The taste was mainly grassy sweet through the hops.Light underscore of malts to play with the sweetness yet still have enough oomph from the bitterness to show some effect in the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Overall, I say this was a pretty good AIPA that I could have again.

Had on a sampler flight. Served in a 3 ounce glass. The beer had a orange-yellow appearance with a thick ring around the glass, but patchy lacing and thin retention. Pretty good aromas including herbs with hops, pines, and other earthy tones. Taste followed the nose with a medium flavored hop-citrus dynamic that was decent. Mouthfeel included a good carbonation and crispness. Overall, not a bad IPA.

Poured a medium brass hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was Goid retention and lacing.

The smell featured subtle herbal and piney hops and a clean grainy malt.

The taste was likewise clean with a crisp pale malt and spicy piney hop.

The mouthfeel was typical of the style.

Overall a serviceable IPA.

Appears a light gold with a 1 finger head and nice lacing. Solid streams of carbonation rise to the top.
Smell is of bitter hops and light citrus with a slight touch of butter.
Taste is of bitter hops, grapefruit, and buttery richness. Slight hop burn that lasts in the middle of the tongue.
Mouthfeel is hoppy upfront with a long linger on the back of the tongue. Fizzy feel goes straight to the back of the tongue.
Drinkability is ok. I changed off after one.
