Quaffed during a visit with Alewife on 09NOV12.

Had a shaker pint of this with some Buffalo Chicken Tenders... Bier was a muted, slightly cloudy, golden color, with a thin, fine white head. Lacing was pretty good. Nose was inviting, a decent rindy, citrus aroma. This IPA was pretty smooth, but a bit less than medium for the body.

Tasted of rindy, pithy citrus, with lots of bitterness. A little piney as well, there was not too much in the way of malts or sweetness. The hops lingered well on the palate. A somewhat simple, albeit decent offering. Prosit!

I got this beer because they don't serve heady topper (I KNOW RIGHT!?!). overall, was clean, crisp, and went down smooth. Definitely not on the same level as heady, but none the less an above average IPA. I would get it again and WOULD recommend it above their other house brews.

a tasty ipa here, but hopelessly generic. highly hopped with Columbus, this is a bitter brew I have seemed to taste a million times before. the pour is a little weak, clear and brassy colored, but where is the head? just a few bubble patches hover around. I smell bitter hops and glazed pale malt in high doses, a good mix. the hops appear fresh and aggressive, while the malt gives just enough balance and fermentables without distracting from the hop intensity. the taste is the same as the nose, but because of the generic ingredient list, the beer has the same vibe. it needs a curious hop varietal, a new yeast strain, or some other dry hopping technique to set it apart, but it just doesn't have any of it. a tasty and drinkable ipa, beautifully bitter, but this is nothing new at all. fine carbonation even with the lack of head, and a bigger than necessary body that limits sessionability for me. this was a fine choice with Cajun chicken wings, but it just didn't set me off the way so many Vermont india pale ales have done so far this summer.

Golden copper colored, opaque with a white head. Faint malty aroma, not much in the way of hops on the nose.

Dry malty taste dominates with very light hops flavor following up, some pine, a bit of resin, maybe a hint of citrus in there. Just enough hop bitterness to pass itself off as an IPA but honestly far more restrained than I'm used to.

Medium body, clean cracker like malt finish. Needs more hops desperately, or call it a pale ale - but even then I'd like more hops in there.
