Went here on a quiet Wednesday afternoon.
It's a pretty big place comprising two levels but only the ground level was open when we went.
The quality and service was ok, but I'd imagine that on a Friday night this place would get packed out with workers from all the near by office buildings and the service would dwindle.
Their selection is decent enough but with Cookie & Transport so close by you can certainly do a lot better for variety of beers if that's your main interest.
As others have mentioned it is pricey but so are most bars in the city.

Nice and cozy inside. A more sit-down type Englisgy bar on the first floor and a larger open space on the 2nd floor. A unique beer selection for Melbourne, with (naturally) a strong emplasis on European beers. A few German ales and a few Belgian ales can be found on tap, but be prepared to pay CDB prices, plus some. They also have a decent looking menu, with some beer-matching daily specials.
A good place to drop in for a beer, but I often feel underdressed in there. Perhaps that's just because I'm often underdressed.

I have been to the EBC a few times but have not reviewed it because I feel you at least got to go to a place twice to review it in case they were having a bad day.

Well.... It OK. The staff are friendly. The only real problem I have is the fact that I was ordering food at the tables and for a cafe, their ordering system sucked. You have to go to the bar to order food. If thats the case then don't tell people to have a seat and look at the menu's.

The beers are ok. A bit pricey, but all the beers in the city are. The selection is ok. There are some bars with better but their tap selection is not bad.

Overall not a bad place. I can just think of better places to go to eat and have a beer in melbourne. Belgian Beer Cafe being one of them.

only been here the one time, and one things for sure, the selection cant be faulted. just lacked a bit of ambience and the beers were quite costly.

has bars on two levels, the bottom being more of a nightclub style set up, the top has live bands. alas there was nowhere to go and sit silently and savor some of the real quality beers thay have here. has all the standard euro lagers, a couple of wits, and has belgian ales like leffe and grimberger on tap which made my trip worthwhile. best part about it is they are all served in their traditional glasses and are well poured by the bar staff. just a bit too pricey for my liking. diverse menu in the food dept, with traditional meals from all over europe.

not a place id go to often, but not bad to check out if one is in the mood for a belgian ale straight outta the tap. wouldnt mind giving the food a nudge next time i decide to go.
