12.68 fl oz brown glass bottle served in a snifter, reviewed live:

A - Pours a cloudy lemon yellow/light orange color with a thick, fizzy head of two fingers. Retention is pretty good, and the head leaves tight lacing as it recedes.

S - Light candi sugar, sweet fruit, coriander, clove, faint hints of ethanol, and light crystal malt. Light and delicate. Nothing spectacular though it is inviting.

T - Hops are present in the taste that weren't evident in the nose. They help balance the beer though. Clearly fermented with a high proportion of candi sugar as the body is light and airy. The yeast are restrained and mild, perhaps too much so, but what flavors are there are very nice. Probably almost ideal, just too light and mild for my tastes.

M - Light, highly carbonated, and dry. Ideal for the style.

D - Highly drinkable and high quality. If you're a fan of the style, definitely worth a try. Too mild for me, though.

batch 011 - poured into a tulip

A - cloudy honey orange/yellow, 2 fingers head, perfect carbonation, great lacing

S - very yeasty, bready.. maybe the use of belgian yeast?, honey, citrus (orange peel), grassy hop smell. smells like summer, which is perfect since it's really nice out finally.

T - sweet and citrusy up front, light grassy hop taste from the smell i gathered. it's very flavorful for such a basic style of beer. i usually hate blonde ales, but this is perfect.

M - lightly carbonated, mediu bodied, nice and fizzy on the roof of my mouth.

O - this is perfection as far as blonde ales go. the belgian yeast is very noticeable and you keep getting hints of grass and citrus.. like a witbier. perfect for the summer, i really hope to get more of this.

Poured from a 375 mL. corked and caged bottle (Batch 011) into a tulip glass.

A moderate pour yields a 1 1/2-finger snow white head that quickly fades in about a minute to a thick dusting and thick foam ring. The body is a cloudy pastel gold with evenly distributed tiny floaties and a small amount of carbonation bubbles. Thick lacing clings to the glass between sips but never sticks long.

The nose is noticeably yeasty with strong aromas of lemongrass and green bananas. Bready malts and floral hops aromas are also noticeable but not nearly as prevalent as the yeast.

Sharp citrus starts each sip with notes of orange zest and lemons. Upon swallowing, a typical Belgian yeast flavor comes out and is quickly met by more flavors of oily lemon. An overlying cracker-like malt flavor is present at all stages of the sip.

The body is light and refreshing, never becoming coating or sticky. It provides for a very easy mouthfeel but does seem to get bullied by the carbonation. Prickly, fizzy, and slightly explosive, the carbonation fizzes when the beer is held in the mouth and foams up when the beer is swallowed. This, with the lighter body, can make it a little difficult to really dissect the flavors of the beer.
