510ml bottle dated 4/3/14 poured into a tulip
A: Orange color with a one-finger head
S: Very fresh, immediately jumps from the bottle as soon as it's opened. A pleasant combination of citrus/pine/floral hops but caramel/malt providing a solid background
T: Matches the nose; tastes incredibly fresh. Again a great balance of hops and malt yet packs tons of flavor for its 6%
M: Medium-bodied, very crisp and refreshing
O: One of the better IPAs I've had. Fresh, flavorful and refreshing

2/21/17 - Follow up to Pliny the Younger at Monk's charity event. Full pour into a pint glass. Still holds up as a super classic IPA Nice chaser.
4-6-15 - Monk's back bar after Phillies home opener loss. Still one of the best IPAs around.
2-26-16 - On tap at Monk's in Philly. Pint glass. Classic IPA.

Big fluffy white head. Slightly hazy, translucent brew: gold and orange straw that easily lets through light sources, shifting its appearance constantly. Lively and bubbly. Excellent head retention and excellent lacing.

Big grapefruit and pine notes, with a hint of dank cat musk, tropical fruit, and lemon. Malt presence is tricky to pick out behind all the up-front hops, but it's mostly pale biscuit and floral/honey in the background.

Flavor is less bitter and brightly hoppy than the aroma indicates; much more mellow. Pine and pale malts up front, with a huge dose of Mosaic fruit and dankness on the back end. Crisp and clean.

Bright, light-bodied (but plenty of flavor), semi-dry finish with long-lasting hops on the palate. Very drinkable.

This is a solid IPA. I don't feel it lives up to its big cousin, PtE, at all - but then, it's lighter and lower ABV, so it occupies a different beer niche. It's closer to the hoppy APAs so many companies are putting out now. Enjoy this with lunch or on a warm day.
