Just got back from San Francisco with several bottles of different RR brews.

Appearance- beautiful golden color with a one finger head that laces down the glass

Smell- nice with notes of pine and citrus

Taste- excellent balance of malt and hops

Mouthfeel-perfect amount of carbonation

Overall-one of the best IPAs.I've ever had

Poured 510 ml bottle dated 1/16/14 into New Belgium globe

A-Pours a clear light honey yellow with almost a finger of off-white head, nice lacing. Good carbonation.

S-Aromas of pine/resin, citrus, floral notes, tropical fruit.

T-Taste improves from smell with notes of pine/resin, floral hops, citrus, light caramel and bread.

M-Nice mouthfeel with a semi-dry finish with a medium body.

O-Overall a great IPA by Russian River. I want more.

look: 3.5 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 5 | overall: 4.5

a: hazy golden amber - like amber waves of grain. 2.5 finger solid white head with a bunch of bubbles on top

s: so much pineapple. pineapple to the face. orange, mango, juicy passionfruit, and crisp sweet caramel. i think i smell a hint ofdiacetyl as well

t: pineapple, bitter grapefruit, mango, fresh biscuits, bitter resins. finishes with some tangy apricots, fresh dough, and ends with bitter tea leaf

m: really nice mouthfeel. its medium with just enough carbonation to help the juice from the tropical fruits pop

o: much more bitter than the nose indicated. its clean and crisp and bitter. the bitterness is not overpowering, and blends nicely with the juicy fruit. the funny about this is that its really quite good - its just hard to live up to the other IPA offerings from Russian River, but this is really quite a good substitute. a little more bitter than say..PtE, but can holds its own with the big boys
