Had this straight from the bottle 3 weeks after bottling. Pours orange/golden color with a thick white head. The smell was citrus and very earthy. Taste starts off very clean which turns to hoppy bitterness on the back end. Overall, I consider it a top-notch IPA. I'm not sure it's my favorite IPA, but one that I would definitely have consistently when available.

This is my favorite IPA. I'm not saying it's the best, but personally, I love it.

The appearance and mouthfeel are spot on, but there is only so much to be done with an IPA. It's a healthy copper color, with a resinous head and a clean, crisp, but not watery mouthful.

The smell has strong notes of grapefruit, pine, and fresh citra hops (I don't actually know if they're in there, but it certainly tastes like it). It's both distinct and wonderful; the two don't usually go together. But here? They do.

Taste mimics the smell, with pine, citrus, and fresh floral hops dominating the front end. After that hop resin and just the right amount of malts clean up the palette. It's not as dry as a northwest style IPA, so it won't be off putting to those who don't want to feel like they're drinking liquefied plants, but it's not so sweet it will put off those who do (like me). In the end it occupies a sweetness middle ground few IPA's do.

Overall, this is the first, and maybe last (I'm looking at you 2013 Abyss), overall 5 I've posted.

Yeah, I like this one.

Pours orangey golden with a white head. Aroma is citrus and its rind, floral, grainy, and piney. Flavor is floral, citrus rind, toasted bread, interesting graininess, and pine. A crisp, active mouthfeel. Overall, very nice IPA. While I definitely get why so many people love this beer, I only liked it, personally. Would drink again.

A: Clear, save for the mess of sediment at the bottom if the bottle. Golden with a tinge of orange. Medium carbonation leaves a small persistent foam ring.

S: Straw. Lemon lime and orange.

T: Starts off cool and clean and rushes in with floral and citrus hoppy bitterness. Slight tinniness through the middle with faint sweetness of orange rind. Finishes a bit dry with a bit of pine and tree sap.

M: An odd mouthfeel: it starts off light but slowly grows in heaviness. Probably building from the somewhat long and dry hop aftertaste.

O: Really great IPA. Good full acidic hopiness; strong bittering, but not over the top. I can't see myself drinking more than one and really appreciating the second though. The flavors are too light and would get lost in the dry finish.

Pours clear golden with thick bubbly white head. Aroma is crisp hoppy floral citrus. Taste is crisp clean hops upfront with a touch of sweet malt and bitter orange peel on the follow through. Aftertaste is lingering bitter citrus and dank piny hops. Palate is clean and a little sticky. Overall very well balanced IPA.
