Floral, soapy, lemony. Much different profile than I expected. Not super strong on tropical fruit aromas. Goes down in a different way with a very soft malt bill.

Had this for the first time at the Bistro's IPA festival. Did not know it existed, nor would I have expected it to.

Requisite hazy pour, so weird with everything else from them having such a clean look. Dull yellow cloudiness, 1/2" white head, good retention, above average for style. So even if it looks like shit by design, they still managed a way to stand out from the crowd. The aroma wasn't doing anything to stand apart from the crowd, there is that moment the first time you smelled a Pliny that was like "WHOOOOAAAA!!!!" but here it has become almost pedestrian to have a hazy ipa with a bouquet of the usual 5 proprietary heavy aroma hops. The Nelson hops here just didn't burst like I thought they would, but the Strata Nelson combo is unique and cool, just wanted more of it.

Taste is good more of a hybrid of ipa styles balancing the taste and mouth feel. Has the appearance of a hazy, has the bitterness of a west coast. They describe it as low bitterness in the commercial tug job but it seems to be more in the moderate range, which is cool w me. Flaked oats do their job providing a cushy backdrop malt body for the beer. Lower carb.

Russian Rivers hazy beers have been a mixed bag for me. While tasty, and good, they don't do much in terms of standing out or setting the bar--not in the way their more traditional IPAs do. So, Mind Circus. It pours cloudy, with a gentle aroma and a soft bitterness. Nelson hops, which are a mixed bag for me. What stands out is a somewhat grainy feel, however--not corn, mass produced lager grainy, more of a velvety texture. If that makes any sense.
