Notes: Mind Circus IPA has a mild bitterness and a thick, luscious mouthfeel. This style of IPA is what is being called in the beer world a “Hazy IPA” Dominantly herbaceous and grassy, with moderate tropical notes as well as some bright citrus. This unique hazy IPA gains its flavor of grapes and grass from the Nelson hops, and its tropical notes of pineapple and mango from the Strata hops. It is unfiltered leaving a “haze” and some yeast for more texture. Oats were also used to add to the softer mouthfeel and hazy appearance.

Pours a hazy, but not completely opaque bright yellow-orange color. A nice 3-4 finger head forms on the beer upon pouring. It lingers for a moment before dissipating, leaving just a thin layer of foam on top of the beer. A good amount of sticky lacing coats the glass however. Aroma has notes of orange, tangerine, dole pineapple juice and a slight onion note. Its fruity on the nose, but not really sweet.

Taste follows the nose for the most part - there are notes of orange, citrus, tangerine, a touch of lemon and lime, with some pineapple and dried grass. The onion on the nose registers more as dried grass in the flavor profile. There is a touch of sweetness here, but its very mild. There is a nice moderate bitterness that is very pleasant. Feel is medium bodied, silky smooth, and bright. medium, bright carbonation. A touch on the drier side for a NS style IPA.

Overall its a very nice IPA. I love the balance in this one. a huge thank you to @Beersnake1 for sending this one along.

500ml brown glass bottle nabbed at a beer store in Colorado for $3.77 USD plus tax. Bottled on: 03/29/21.

"Hazy IPA." 7.00% ABV. Brewed with Nelson hops, Strata hops, and oats.

Served cold into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass in Castle Rock, CO.

HEAD: ~5cm in height. A bit weak looking; not as robust, thick, or creamy as would be ideal. Off-white in colour. ~8 minute head retention.

BODY: Murky and hazy. Nontransparent translucent yellow. Obviously unfiltered.

Looks well carbonated, but this isn't a top tier appearance for a turbid IPA. Nevertheless, it's certainly generally inviting.

AROMA: White wine, citrus, gooseberry, tropical fruit, mango, pineapple, juicy citrus, pulp, white grape.

Maltwise, all I'd bet on is malted wheat and 2-row. Attenuation seems dialed in with minimal residual sugars.

Certainly appealing, promising an IPA that delivers on its Nelson hop regimen and brings some new world Strata hop character into the mix to good effect.

TASTE: Nelson hops bloom in this mellow ale, bringing subtle white wine/white grape notes to the fore in an otherwise juicy/fruit driven hop profile. Mango, pineapple, vague tropical fruit, citrus.

Nelson is the star here, though I will say Alpine's Nelson (at least when brewed by Alpine, not Green Flash) showcases the hop still better.

Malt backbone is mellow...wheat, pale malt, and that's it (that's all you need). Mellow, fresh, and easy drinking.

A refreshing IPA with a nice hop profile, zero lingering bitterness, and the ideal amount of malt sweetness to keep it in balance.

TEXTURE: Refreshing, light to medium-bodied, juicy, fresh, smooth, wet, and perfectly carbonated. A biteen pulpy. Not an oily mouthfeel.

OVERALL: Stupidly drinkable. It's another knockout IPA from one of the best breweries in the world, and while its ordinary price would keep me from picking it up regularly nevertheless, at $3.77 a bottle it's well worth a buy.

Probably the most drinkable turbid IPA I've had in the last year.

I just expect more from RR. Which I guess is a blessing and a curse for certain breweries. Very solid overall, just not a ton going on. Could easily find a better local brew in a 4pk

This in my view, is easily the best after Pliny the Younger. Ease of Drinkability is out of the charts!!!
*Looks: hazy, light-pale beige brown, good head retention 1-1.5 finger head
*Aroma: Mellow hops, mild lemon, mild pine, mild sweet floral/mild pineapple
*Taste: Very easy to drink, light refreshing, floral lemony taste, Mind Circus is a superb IPA, awesome balance unlike Pliny the Elder which is overrated.
*Final Verdic*: A+ , what a beautiful creation by Russian River, second only to Pliny The Younger (easily beats Pliny The Elder)

A: Cloudy, peach-colored with a small sudsy head that dissipates quickly.

S: Fruity, bright.

T: Strong grapefruit up front, medium mouthfeel with a smooth, soft finish. No hop "bite" and very smooth from start to finish.

M: Medium mouthfeel, pillowy soft with absolutely no alcohol burn.

O: This is an excellent offering from Russian River. Full of flavor, smooth and extremely easy to drink without being too sweet. Pillowy soft feel with tons of flavor. I will definitely be picking this one up again!

Love me some Hazy and this is the epitome of 2020’s can fashion. Outstanding; I’ll buy it EVERY time I see it available here in Boulder County

Pale, golden tangerine colored body; nice head, fairly dense and soapy. Standard hazy IPA citrus pith with a touch of cereal grains; a mild bit of grapefruit. The taste exudes toasted cracker, wheat and oats with a nice touch of grapefruit and lemon; moderate hop bitterness presence; mildly pepper-like. Medium-heavy body; coarse and prickly on the palate; citric juiciness with a bit of acidic and alcohol dryness.

This beer is certainly tasty but with a few soft spots. The look appears fine although the head is rather weak and not as creamy or dense as I've noticed other hazies. And the smell, while okay, is rather muted. The flavor and mouthfeel are the saving graces of the beer.

Appearance - Pours hazy and straw yellow with a white, frothy, two-finger width head. Fair retention ,resulting in a thin, broken layer of suds. Fair retention, with thin webbing, broken lines and small spotting.

Smell - Soft, but prominent fruity aroma.

Taste - Follows the nose. Very strong with "white fruit" and tropical notes. White grapefruit, white grape, papaya and lesser passionfruit. Touch of mineral character. Soft, but flavorful, then a hint of grass in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Smooth, soft and almost silky mouthfeel before a slightly dry finish.

Overall - Very much a classic NE-style IPA. Clean, soft and tropical. I dig it.

Cloudy yellow colored beer with a medium sized snow white head. Suppose that is what it is supposed to look like.

Smells hoppy and tropical. Smells of passion fruit and mint. Hints of apple, melon and banana. Scent of willow tree.

Starts out sweet and fruity with a banana after taste. Lots of tropical fruit tastes, Pineapple, Passion Fruit and Papaya are the strongest. After taste is melon. Stays sweet through the entire glass and the flavor shifts with each taste.

Mouthfeel is thick.

Overall not bad. I can see why the NE IPA is a thing. But the West Coast IPA is still the king in California.
