2015, poured a couple hours after Supplication. Very similar look, in that it pours what I would describe as a muddy brown. Good amount of funk on the nose, but there was also a wood character coming through. Well balanced taste profile, with a slight tartness with a hint of sweet. Once again, the barrel itself lets you know that it is there. Giving the feel a boost because this is definitely a shining example of the "I cannot believe this is 10%". No alcohol presence whatsoever. 2nd time actually having this beer, and it was just as good as the first time.

2015 vintage:

Darker than supplication and less of a head

Smells of cherries, currants, vanilla and brown sugar (hint of horse blanket)

More sour than supplication, in all honesty in comparison a let down

Worth trying but I highly favor supplication :)

One of the best reasons for visiting the west coast, aside from the spectacularly beautiful outdoors, is all the great beer, especially Russian River. I finally had a chance to buy a Consecration, and while $20 is pretty steep (at a good beer store in San Diego), it was absolutely worth it. What a fantastic wild ale!

Bottled 6/17/15, consumed 2/7/17

This beer pours a translucent garnet amber that almost looks brownish if it isn't held up to the light. There is an extremely fizzy, one finger khaki head that dissipates almost immediately and leaves no lacing whatsoever.

Smell is very strong cabernet, oak, vinegar, cherries and other dark fruit. There is a slight hint of something else sweet almost caramelish that becomes more noticeable as the beer warms.

Taste is similar with the added layer of tobacco and some funk. Starts off slightly sweet with the dark fruit, but transitions nicely to sour funky vinegar and wine with a touch of oak.

Feel is medium, crisp and very well carbonated. The finish is extremely dry exactly like a good cabernet. Cannot believe this beer is 10% abv with how smooth and easy drinking it is.

Overall this beer is excellent. This is my second RR sour, and although I slightly prefer Supplication, this beer is still fantastic.

This is the best sour I have ever had. Its sour flavor is so smooth you can gulp it down with ease if you wanted to. With nice flavors of red wine that round out the entire flavor. If you like sours you need to try this beer.
