Blonde Ale aged in Chardonnay barrels with brett, lacto, and pedio (base beer is Temptation). This sour barrel-aged blonde ale has 31 pounds per barrel of fresh raspberries to make a beautiful reddish/pink beer! Nicely balanced with sweet raspberry and tartness. This beer is made only once a year in conjunction with our month-long fundraiser for the Sutter Breast Care Services of Santa Rosa during Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 100% of the proceeds of this beer will be used to help men and women in our community in their fight against breast cancer!

Huge thanks to yeahnatenelson for this one. As a raspberry whore, it's been on my wants list for a while. This is the 2012 batch, which also uses Temptation as the base. It pours the color of a ruby-red grapefruit with a gradient of deep ruby in the center and borderline pink at the edges. The soapy foam cap is a mix of lavender and pink and it gone within a minute or two, leaving behind only a little ring around the edge.
Raspberries lead the aroma profile, but Framboise for a Cure is far from one dimensional. I'm also picking up a noticeable amount of apples and grapes and cherries, all providing a jolt of sweetness and tartness. Plenty of funk roaming around; the critters are running wild in this one, no doubt. The more and more I smell this one, the more seemingly tart it gets. Plenty of overtly sour notes that pinch the saliva glands and start making my mouth water.
Once again, there'll be no surprise when I say that the flavor profile opens up with a large mound of raspberries. Other "berry" flavors seem relevant, too, along with lighter bouts of grapes and cherries. Very juicy, gushing with fruity flavors all around. Plenty of mildly vinous notes, including a nice amount of oak and tannin. Certainly tart and puckering from the middle to the end. It has a very crisp mouth feel from heavy carbonation and feels so light and effervescent. The funk is a bit more subdued on the palate, but still includes lots of cork, must, and cellar-like funk. Mouth watering and delicious.
Framboise for a Cure is damn good. As I stated earlier, I'm a huge fan of raspberries and I tend to be somewhat biased towards beers with well-integrated raspberries - exactly what this beer is. That being said, and somewhat shockingly so, I think I prefer the regular Temptation to this batch of Framboise for a Cure (which is essentially Temptation with raspberries). Nevertheless, still a fine brew and sure to make any raspberry and/or sour lover go nuts. Get some!

Bottle from 2012
A: Poured into a RR tion class to a deep red beer topped by a dense and slightly rocky finger of off white head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of juicy raspberries and sourness with some oak and funk
T: Taste is nice raspberry up front with some oak and a strong amount of funky barnyard. Sourness builds but there's still a hint of clean maltyness. Overall not super sour but the raspberries help to keep that in check. Hints of band aid at times as well. On the swallow there's more raspberry, slight maltyness, some lingering tartness and a touch more funk.
M: This beer is on the lighter side of medium with a fairly neutral feel on the palate. Carbonation is effervescent and prickly at times while the beer has a drying finish from the acidity.
O: Overall this is a great beer for a great cause. The raspberries have faded over time but the beer has evolved pretty wonderfully. While it's approaching seven years old it doesn't have any flavors that would point to it being past its prime. Really nice complexity on this one and one to try if you can get it.

This one pours a nice light and clear pinkish color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This one smells like lemon rind and lemony funk, jammy raspberry, white wine, and oak.
This is really well done. The raspberry is present, but it's done smartly and judiciously. The base Temptation still comes through quite nicely, with a dry, slightly sweet, and lemony funk. The raspberry is layered over all of that quite nicely.
This is crisp and light bodied, and very drinkable, with a wonderful dry finish.
I've been waiting to try this beer for quite a bit now, and it was worth the wait. This is some classic and tasty stuff right here.
