Growler courtesy of Arbitrator. Thanks Mihir!

Poured into my Delerium Noel tulip. A down the middle pour results in three fingers of dense white foam which dissipates slowly. Minimal lacing. The beer is a beautiful amber color. Crystal clear with a wonderful column of fine bubbles steadily climbing to the surface and forming a small hill of foam in the center of the glass. The aroma that greets my nose as I push it into the glass is sweet and citrusy. Sugar cookies and orange blossoms come to mind. Very nice. The taste follows the nose with big notes of orange, mango, and papaya. The hops are featured in this brew but the malt is artfully woven throughout, providing the perfect stage for the hops to act out their bitter drama. This is an APA? The exquisite blending of hoppy bitterness and sweet biscuity malt make this a joy to savor. Feel is medium leaning towards lighter which makes this a very refreshing adult beverage. Overall, this is a thoroughly enjoyable APA. Between this and Alpine's Hoppy Birthday I may have to change my favorite style. Another winner from Vinnie and the crew at Russian River. If you see this be sure to get a pint.

A: Copper color with a white head.

S: Tropical fruits, passionfruit and pine in the nose.

T: Spicy, pleasantly bitter, nice tropical fruit flavor.

M: Medium bodied and fairly smooth.

O: Delicious pale ale! Russian River Brewing makes some of the best pales ales I've ever had.

Beautiful clear as all RR pale ales tend to be. A rich Yellow in color with decent head retention.

The floral aromas jump out! Mouthfeel is light, taste follows aroma. Very good beer! An excellent highlight for the hops in this beer and i am looking forward to having this again.

Had on tap at City Beer in San Fran. $5 for 10oz and advertised as a pale ale.

Nice copperish yellow with a decent little head that stuck about for a little while.

Smell is piney but not as piney as Pliny. Nice little biscuit malt backbone

Taste is as smell. Refreshing, not boozy, nice piney kick at the end but not like licking a sweaty armpit.

Overall a nice beer and glad to have tried it

Rating this beer to style, pretty strong Pale Ale at 6.2% ABV

Looks very light orange, clear. almost champagne like. Active in the glass.

Smells phenominal to style. Hoppy and dry. Grassy.

Tastes pretty solid. Grassy and dry in the finish, but nice and floral Pale Ale. Typical RRBC crisp finish. I saw in a review below thatthis is like a stonger version of Dead Leaf Green which I do agree with. My thoughts were that this is a bit hoppier than Parking Violation with less malt used. Regardless, I could session this beer all day and keep coming back for more.

As I mentioned above, typical RRBC dry crisp hoppy mouthfeel with the perfect amount of bitterness in the finish.

Overall, I'd give this a 4.3 but all I can do is round up. Another winner from Vinnie and crew. Keep up the good work.

Had a glass at City Beer Store in San Francisco. With so many good pale options for craft beer lovers, it's hard to make an APA stand out, but damn if this doesn't achieve that distinction.

Segal is crisp with a little lighter body (it'd be a great session beer if not for the 6.2% ABV). There's an obvious sharp pine flavor but also a fruitier aroma and then a clean, floral rose undertone to the hops. A gentle toasty toffee malt note sneaks in for what's a very bright and drinkable ale. Great pale ale here.

On tap at City Beer Store in San Francisco - served in a pint glass. Hadn't heard of this, so it was a pleasant surprise to find this one on tap.

A - Pours a pale gold color with some mild haze that gives a bit of a translucent glow. Low white head that manages to leave behind some nice lacing on the glass.

S - Hoppy up front with the usual mix of citrusy grapefruit with a bit of pine and some light biscuity malt underneath.

T - Biscuity malt at the base, layered on top with quite a bit of hops. For an APA, this is quite bitter but remains clean and refreshingly drinkable. Bitterness is crisp and clean with lots of grapefruity citrus and some pine on the fringes of the flavor.

M - Light, crisp, clean fermentation. Relatively strong carbonation level over a fairly light body.

O - Quite good overall. Lighter than other Russian River hoppy beers, but no less satisfying. This has more of a drinkable quality to it and gives the feeling that a number of these could be had in a session. Really hit the spot after a 1/2 hour walk thru the city on a warm summer day.

It’s always nice to welcome new beers to the Russian River board. This one is another APA, brewed with Northern Brewer and Cascade hops.

It pours a nice and toasty golden color with great cream foam that results in a long lasting head on this brew. The aroma has a gently pleasing hoppy aroma with elements of grassy straw, lemon, and lemongrass in the mix. As I sip it I pick up some dry and grassy straw along with a very delicate touch of lemongrass. Finishes dry.

On tap at Russian River's Anniversary party. Pours a clear, golden-orange color with a medium, white head. Scent is hoppy with plenty of pine and citrus...smells like a mini Pliny with less pine. Taste is VERY hoppy for an APA...this could be borderline IPA... very nice citrus and pine flavors (just how Russian River does it). Mouthfeel is medium bodied and very crisp and refreshing. Nice, bitter bite at the end. Drinkability is very high. Overall, this is a highly drinkable APA that could easily kick the ass of many IPAs in certain beer contests. Tons of great flavor and intense drinkability. Very impressed.

Thanks to Sean9689 via nerd for sharing this. Served in my taster pint glass.

A - Big creamy off-white foam, that features good retention, and leaves splotchy lacework. Pale transparent golden straw body.

S - Pine, grass light citrus zest, and a sweet sugary malt backdrop. Not the most complicated beer, but very well done, and quite refreshing.

T - Mostly hop flavors - a nice mix of grapefruit, grass, and pine. Minimal pale malt backdrop, with light bitterness in the finish.

M - Light, crisp, refreshing, and very dry. Some residual mild hop resins and oily stickiness.

D - Nice clean pale ale. Not mind-blowing, but extremely drinkable, and well-executed. I prefer Parking Violation, but I wouldn't turn this one down if it was on-tap.

I had this beer yesterday at Pete's Brass Rail and Car Wash.

Appearance- golden color, thin but nice looking head, good retention, nice lacing

Smell- citrus hops

Taste- hops, very nice, well balanced

Mouthfeel- medium bodied

Drinkability- I thought this was very good! I enjoyed it thoroughly. Probably won't have it at Pete's the next time I go there but I will have it at the brewery.
