On tap at Russian River's Anniversary party. Pours a clear, golden-orange color with a medium, white head. Scent is hoppy with plenty of pine and citrus...smells like a mini Pliny with less pine. Taste is VERY hoppy for an APA...this could be borderline IPA... very nice citrus and pine flavors (just how Russian River does it). Mouthfeel is medium bodied and very crisp and refreshing. Nice, bitter bite at the end. Drinkability is very high. Overall, this is a highly drinkable APA that could easily kick the ass of many IPAs in certain beer contests. Tons of great flavor and intense drinkability. Very impressed.

Rating this beer to style, pretty strong Pale Ale at 6.2% ABV

Looks very light orange, clear. almost champagne like. Active in the glass.

Smells phenominal to style. Hoppy and dry. Grassy.

Tastes pretty solid. Grassy and dry in the finish, but nice and floral Pale Ale. Typical RRBC crisp finish. I saw in a review below thatthis is like a stonger version of Dead Leaf Green which I do agree with. My thoughts were that this is a bit hoppier than Parking Violation with less malt used. Regardless, I could session this beer all day and keep coming back for more.

As I mentioned above, typical RRBC dry crisp hoppy mouthfeel with the perfect amount of bitterness in the finish.

Overall, I'd give this a 4.3 but all I can do is round up. Another winner from Vinnie and crew. Keep up the good work.

This is a good, solid, slightly strong pale ale that is somewhat similar to a slightly more bitter/hoppy version of the Dead Leaf Green, or a dryer, slightly less complex and less balanced Pliny, lacking the malty richness, etc.

Deep gold, it has a smallish off-white head, slowly shrinking to a ring and some nice lace.

Aroma is lightly caramelised citrus, esp. grapefruit plus hints of orange and lemon, as well as pine and some light raisininess,

Taste is similar, lean, crisp, pretty well balanced between light raisiny-grain malty sweetness and light caremlised grapefruit and pine bitterness. It leans just slightly to the more bitter side, esp. at the finish but not up front. It has a light toasted cracker element coming through at the finish and aftertaste but other wise the malt element is more to the fruity caramelised raisin side. Feel is excellent, light but firm, lively and engaging, solid without being heavy. It has good integration of the elements, is very solid, and it's pretty light and drinkable.
