FINALLY made it out. This place is only 4 hours away, but damn that California traffic! I was going to stop here and Lagunitas in the same day, but Russian River was just too bountiful and too good and I couldn't make it out to Petaluma by the end of my stay in Santa Rosa. Not much needs to be said about Russian River. It is one of the best breweries in the world. Their taps run the gamut from porter to sour to IPA. And they are ALL good, if not better. And it's reasonably priced! 4.50 pints or 3.25 during happy hour. 2oz. tasters under a dollar? Could a beer lover ask for more? Well there is more! You can buy bottles to take home! They obviously cost less coming directly from the source. And their food is pretty good too! The only issue I had was that the house vinagrette was too oily - not mixed enough or something.

Service is a little slow sometimes, but you can't fault them entirely considering how packed it gets in there.

A tremendous value to be sure. You're drinking $$$$ quality and you're paying $$ for it.

From the infamous Pliny and Blind pig, you’d think their tap room/brewery would be majestic like...while their beer selection consist of everything imaginable, the inner beings were that of a standard bar/restaurant combo. The inside is decorated well, but service was slow, and we only ordered a beer. I will always stop by if in the neighborhood to grab me some blind pig...but I guess I’ll have to wait for the updated tap room coming.

Top notch craft brew house. Monster selection of beers with the world famous Pliny the Elder on tap for $5! Super packed but all the employees are cool as hell. Only thing was I didn't really dig the food! Probably a personal thing though since I usually don't eat when I drink anyway. A must visit for beer lovers!

The vibe that I felt might be skewed: my friends and I visited during Pliny the Younger release. We got there around 8 and waited for the place to open. We were lucky and were part of the first hundred to be let in. The wait was easily manageable.

Once inside, it was like beer Mecca. tons of beer pilgrims were wide-eyed with glee. I tried to not let the hype overwhelm me, but I was very excited. I ordered my first PtY and a 25 taste flight. This is one of the best offerings in the business. You get to taste everything.

My friends and I had a blast and picked up some takeaway bottles. The food was subpar, but we didn't come for food anyhow. I strongly recommend the trip if you are thinking about It.

This place is somewhat inconveniently located in a strip mall in downtown Santa Rosa. Parking was somewhat difficult to find on my visit and the brewpub itself was very busy. There was nowhere to sit and it was difficult to get a beer. Once I did get a beer I shuffled around trying in vain not to be in anyone's way. I finished the beer as quickly as I could, bought a few bottles of Pliny and got the hell out of there.
Their beers are good and there are plenty to choose from, but this place is overrun and overrated. The service probably isn't "bad" so much as overwhelmed--and they do manage to give the place some internal character/decor considering it's in a strip mall, but the crowd/noise was too much for me to actually enjoy myself.

What can I say? One of those places you dream of visiting, and when it happens, its a dream come true! Visited last September, and got every legendary brew they had available to take with me on my journeys. You have to pay for parking if you use their joint lot, as its checked regularly. Place was packed mid day on a week day, efficient and helpful servers, and overall an exuberant feel.
