A-The place was jammed on the Sunday afternoon we visited with a wide spectrum of beer drinkers from serious beer snobs to biker-types. The decor and feel are sort-of lame, with fake-looking beer "memorabilia" on the walls and a big chalk-board menu above the bar. I feel like I'm at TGI Fridays.

Q-The quality is, honestly, great. We tried everything they had in the form of samplers and also tried a lot of different brews in bigger pours and, although there were some duds *cough* OVL stout *cough* the line-up of Pliny, Blind Pig, and Row 2/Hill 56 is pretty awesome all by itself, but then you get Supplication, Damnation, etc.

Ser-The waitress was nice enough, but not terribly knowledgeable about the beers she was slinging. She was also really slow. Normally, I don't fault slow service during a busy time, but this was another level of slow. Also, we had to wait an hour (after waiting two hours to get a table) for a sampler board to open up. Lame.

Sel-Russian River's standard brews are pretty good, and with 16 of them on tap that day, I cannot knock the selection too hard. That being said, the take-away bottle selection was limited to three options (Pliny, Row 2, and Damnation), and there were no special, brewery-only releases on tap. It is a bit of a bummer to go to the brewery to get on tap what you can buy in the store down the valley in San Francisco.

V-The prices for tap beer were pretty good, but the prices for take-away were less good. I did not try the food, so I cannot comment on food prices.

O-I really enjoy Russian River brews, and Santa Rosa is a nice little town, but I do not need to visit the brewery again.

Wow, this place was super busy for 1pm on a weekday. Seemed like lots of people from all over, including me and my travel partner who were on the opposite coast from the one we're used to. A friendly bartender talked to us about all the far away places people come from when he checked our Maryland IDs. Quality is without a doubt excellent, as evidenced in the superb beer. Lots of beers to choose from too, though I had to get Pliny the Elder. Didn't have any food here, so leaving that blank.

Arrived here at 11am for opening to ensure we got a table. This is Mecca for heathen beer geeks. The place filled up and was packed by 11:45 - loud and busy. Service was good and knowledgeable - they knew their beers. There were 20 beers on tap. You can get a flight of California beers and Belgium sours styles.

It is typically extremely packed in the evenings and there has always been a line to pick up Pliny (in the morning) when I was there. The waits are typically not too bad though. In my experience the staff is friendly even though somewhat spread thin on a busy night. There is always a large fantastic selection of regulars and special brews (can be found on their website ahead of time). Food is what you would expect in the range of brewpub food. Because it is RR, i think inherently the vibe is quite cool. Especially if it is your first time there

Some amazing beer. Super busy and very crowded. Pizza is good Pliny is worth the wait.

Stood in line for about 30-40 minutes on a weeknight. That was annoying and unexpected. Set the tone for the visit a bit I guess.

And then so damn crowded once I got inside. Couldn't even find a seat at the bar so I ended up requesting a table just so I could sit down and drink beer. I prefer generally to sit at the bar chat with the bartenders and other patrons and more easily order beers. This too put a bit of a damper on things.

I didn't find much in the way of beers I hadn't had for. Another disappointment but given how awesome their beers are it was nice to try Blind Pig and Supplication on tap.

Biggest bummer was that by the time I had my beers and wanted to grab something to go from their shop, it was closed. Womp womp. Can't win 'em all.
