A - Clear golden yellow with a nice pure white head that clings to the side of the glass nicely. Based on the head, the beer has a thick look to it. Definitely not a watery head, it's got some substance to it.

S - Surprisingly it has a very grainy smell to it, with some faint lemon hops. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it also smells kind of musky, like wet grass.

T - Grassy hops dominate the taste. Something I definitely didn't expect at all. Normally I don't like hoppy beers, but this has a good taste to go along with the hops. I thought it would have a lemon taste to it based on the scent, but it doesn't which kind of disappointed me. Pretty dry finish on this beer. To sum it up, grainy with a grassy hop taste that gives away to a dry finish that lacks any real aftertaste. It comes and goes quickly.

M - Low to medium bodied with also low carbonation. Pretty light and refreshing beer.

D - I don't have a huge problem with the flavor and this beer goes down very easy. It's definitely got a very nice drinkability based on taste, and pair that with a rather low ABV (5.2) and you have yourself a pretty good sessionable beer.

Grade - Two Thumbs up for this beer. No real complaints from me. I wish it had a little more complex taste to it. Something tells me most blonde ales don't taste like this though, so I'll have to try a different one soon.

Notes from the week of June 29th (the exact day was either the 30th or the 1st) - poured into a pint glass - 12 FL. OZ/BTL capped bottle

Appearance: Pours a clear yellow with a decent frothy, white head. Nice lacing.

Smell: On the nose are lemony hops with toasted malt notes and grain. Also, the smell is rather faint with a slight floral characteristic.

Taste: The elements found in the aroma are brought out nicely in the taste, however. Richly hopped with a nice bite, which provides great balance with the bready malt. This beer has a slight dry finish with no real aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation. Feel is silky smooth and refreshing.

Drinkability: A straightforward and tasty blonde ale. As there is no real alcohol present, this is a convenient session beer.

Comments: A Beer of the Month selection. This beer is a winner in the Golden/Blonde ale category.

This beer is a little light for my general taste, but it is an enjoyable beer on these hot summer days. It is a golden, pilsner style brew.

It's pleasant on the nose with some hints of fruit. It is nice texture with a slightly bitter finish.

Enjoy! -T

A - slightly hazy light straw color, very small head with very modest retention

S - light malt aroma with a touch of hop and a touch of green apple from the yeast

T - watery, not much flavor here, modest grainy malt flavor, the hop is somewhat astringent on the finish, slight yeast bite and lots of carbonic acid

M - light body, high carbonation

D - I don't know if this is an old bottle or what, as there's not freshness date printed. This is barely drinkable, but not a total drain pour. I'll choke this down, but I would avoid it in the future. It's not that good a beer.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into my Dogfish shaped pint glass. Poured a clear, pale golden, straw color. It started with a very thin bright white head to it that left a little lacing as I drank it.

The aroma has a grainy and lemony zesty flavor to it with just a hint of some grassy hops. Like the nose, the taste has grainy sweetness to it with some citrusy lemon zest coming through. A hint of some toasty malt comes through as well. The finish has a moderate bitterness to it that lingers.

The mouthfeel is on the lighter side and carbonation is above average. Drinkability is decent, it's light and refreshing and went down pretty easy on this hot day. It wasn't anything outstanding but wasn't bad either. Pretty average overall.

A BOTMC club offering, label is full of snibbling trash talk, I guess they have a short memory or something. Hope the beer is better than the trash talk, lets give it a whirl. Popping the top yields a hoppy sweet malt smell. Pouring into pint glass yields a golden colour with a two-finger medium bubble head. On the taste this is a simple yet tasty brew. Nice hoppiness up front that then goes to a grape like malty flavor with diminishing bitterness. The finish is dry and clean with only a hint of bitterness. A very refreshing brew especially for the southern heat. Its a weener!

A - Pours up a crystal clear pale straw colowed with a white, foamy head that dissipates slowly

S - Grainy, bready aroma. I couldn't smell any hops. Not bad, but not too appetizing

T - Slightly astringent malt flavor with a sharp hop bitterness at the back of the tongue that lingers.

M - Medium bodied, with good carbonation

D - A good, easy drinking beer. A bit too astringent for my taste, but not bad.

A - Pale yellow, low carbonation, small head that fades quickly.

S - A little grassy malt, not much else.

T - Grainy malt flavor with a bit of sweetness. Really kind of tastes like corn pops to me.

M - Thin and watery, which makes it one part refreshing and one part boring.

D - If you are hot and thirsty and would rather than a watery beer than a water, this is it.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass

A: A nice clear blonde color (as expected), light golden yellow, not straw, head is small, but stays as a thick film, pure white, clings at edges

S: surprisingly grainy, has a little something strange about it too, a certain musky aroma, some grassiness too

T: Super grainy, weird for a light blonde beer, has some hops at the end, very grassy hops, a kind of strange flavor combination, promising though, I wasn't expecting that bold of flavors

M: Fairly dry, stays light, refreshing

D: If the flavor was a little better for me the beer itself is great

Notes: It has a lot of good elements, but it just doesn't seem to come together as a whole as good as it could. The malt is actually nice for a paler style ale and the grassy hops are promising, but they don't work well together.

First of all: Welcome to MS Red Brick Brewing!

Picked this up in a mix your own 6er at Kroger Tupelo, first time I've seen the blonde around here, the Laughing skull seems to be easier to get, probably due to the packaging, for shame!

Almost clear yellow, not hazy as I somehow expected. Very nice head that resulted in some nice lacing. Pretty! This beer is alive!

Not impressed by the smell, faint lemon smell, not much there.

Very crisp brew, very refreshing with hints of lemon, some bitterness at the back of the tongue and a very faint taste of malts right there at the end too.

Very drinkable brew, I will buy more of this this summer.

12oz. bottle received as an extra in a recent trade with GatorBeerNerd. Thanks again man!

Pours a very slightly hazy dark golden yellow color with golden ripe banana hues when held to a light source and a two finger frothy, soapy white head that slowly fades into a lasting ring. Sporadic sheets of lacing left behind.

Crisp slightly spicy aroma with faint hints of pepper and coriander. Subtle light fruit notes in the nose, mostly apple and pear. Also, jut a touch of earthy hops. Overall, this beer smells pretty bland. Let's hope the flavor steps it up a notch.

Surprisingly full bodied for the style with some soft carbonation up front that fades into a sweet estery presence which is balanced by an odd malt backbone and a ry spicy finish. Hints of pepper and coriander along with apple, pear and subtle earthy hops. There's not much of an alcohol bite, which I expect and love from this style. Overall, this is a "watered down" version of a Belgian classic that doesn't quite live up to expectations.

A- Big bleach white sudsy head. It fades quickly but leaves some lacing. The beer is, well, blonde. Perfectly clear, light yellow with some effervescence.

S- Very floral. There is a slight hint of lemon and light malts. Some what weak, but pretty appealing.

T- A nice bite of lemony hops right up front. The middle becomes malty sweet just enough to balance it out. The finish is a bit watery but some zesty hops stick around a tad.

M- Prickly carbonation, smooth, light body and dry finish. This is crisp, clean and refreshing.

D- Finishes very clean and goes down with out a fuss. This is totally a sessionable beer.

It's a pretty simple, but easy drinking example of a blonde ale using American hops.
It's golden with a decent head.
The smell is par for the style if not a little hoppier than most.
The flavor profile is clean (almost lager-like) but with a little bit of a fruity overtone. Hops come out here and there and give it some substance.
Easy drinking, although a little foamy and not as sessionable as you might think.
Not too bad, although I prefer the Montgomery Brewing blonde I had the day before.
It's probably a hair too hop-forward to be a light lager conversion brew, too. Still, it's not bad.

Pours a hazy pale straw yellow with a voluminous white head and minimal/no lacing. Nose is wheaty with a hint of citrus. Taste follows suit - wheat, lemon/citrus. Thin bodied and generous carbonation. Not an overly complicated beer, but generally enjoyable. Fairly drinkable, but the high carbonation could start to take a toll.

Picked up in Atlanta earlier this year.

This was a gusher, with about a quarter of the beer flying out and onto the table when it was opened. After getting the beer poured into the glass, the beer poured a hazy yellow color with a huge white head.

The beer smells of wheat malt, with a little bit of lemon. The taste follows the smell, with a slight hop bitterness at the end.

Even with the ridiculous amount of carbonation, this was a good beer. Not the best, but nothing to be disappointed about.

Thanks to beveritt for passing one of these along to sample.

Presentation: 12 oz bottle into a standard pint glass.

A- Straw/yellow with a bit of a haze. Pours with ~2 fingers of white head, which fades slowly to a thin cap.

S- Slightly herbal, earthy metallic presence, and a bit of lemon zest.

T- Citrusy /lemony, and a bit grainy and wheaty. A bit of earthy, metallic-tinged bitterness.

M- Moderately high carbonation. Medium-light feel, and fairly crisp.

D- Pretty good. Flavors are pleasant, if unspectacular. Easy drinker, moderately low ABV, and fairly sessionable.

Future outlook: All in all, pretty decent drink...not available here, and not one to really be sought out, so unless I'm down south, it's doubtful that I'll try it again.

Pours a golden yellow with a nicely retained white head and some lacing.

A light lemony hop smell all that I can detect.

It has a citrus hop taste with a different mineral taste quality. Actually the more I drink of it the more lemon/citrus I taste with some malt to balance out the bitterness. Leaves slight sour aftertaste.

A medium to high carbonation with a medium to light body. This is one of the nice sessionable beers that have some flavor mixed in the with the smoothness.

I'm pretty impressed with this beer. As someone who likes lighter ales/lagers less than 6% abv, this is a nice one that doesn't kill you with hops or sweet corn overload...great summertime beer.

From notes.

Presentation: Poured from a brown bottle into a standard pint glass. Label depicts a 50's era blonde holding a tray with beer on it. Box says consume by 9/1/09.

Appearance: Pours with just over 3 fingers of nearly pure white head. This settles to a pillowy foam cap, leaving behind nearly complete lacing coverage. Beer itself is pale yellow with a slight haze. No sediment.

Smell: Slightly bitter smell with hints of lemon.

Taste: Mild malt with wheat twang. Mild bitterness in the middle. Bitterness lingers well with hints of lemon and floral. Bitterness mellows as the beer warms.

Mouthfeel: Average carbonation. Body is good.

Drinkability: A strange mix of attributes. Looks and feels like a hefe with the huge head, wheat twang, and citrus notes. However, strong bitterness detracts. Maybe an American wheat?

Bought a six pack of this to drink after work not for substance really, but this actually had some subtle nuances.Poured a clear light blond with a large white crown atop that settled pretty slowly, aromas are toasty with a hint of citrus...almost lager-like.Flavors are firmly toasty with light caramel sweetness,a light herbal/citric smack comes thru in the finish.Suprisingly full bodied and it went down easy, couldnt ask for much for from the style.

A: Bright hazy gold color w/ thick fizzy head. Thick lacing left on the glass.

S: Citrus hop nose with a hint of rice smell. very light beer with a slight floral aroma as well.

T: Buttery citrus hop tatse that finishes clean. Hints of lemon accentuate the taste.

M: Very thin beer with lots of fizzy carbonation. Carbonation reminds me of a macro brewed lager, but the taste is very different from a standard macro brew.

D: Very good drinkability. Very light yet full flavored beer that you can drink several of.

12oz bottle

A- Pours a pale golden yellow with a white head that leaves a good amount of lacing around the glass.

S- The aroma is grainy malt and hay with just a touch of hops.

T- The taste starts out with some grain and finishes with a quick bite from the hops. Not bad, it's got a good amount of flavor for a Blonde Ale.

M- The mouthfeel is light bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

D- This would be a great session ale. It is light bodied and easily consumed with a nice amount of flavor. This beer would be a fine tailgating beer! Recommended!

12oz bottle with no freshness dating sent to me from user yesac. thanks! poured into a standard pint glass.

A- this one pours a hazy golden colored body with a small lasting white head. it leaves behind little to no lacing.

S- sweet bready malts and grain. a little bit of lemony hops. very subdued odor in general.

T- sweet bready malts. very grainy. more of the lemon hops than i could smell, but this is by no means a hoppy beer. mild flavor.

M- light to medium bodied with a very high level of carbonation.

D- easy to session but not interesting enough to keep me coming back for too many. very summery. ideal for backyard BBQ or baseball games.

12oz bottle thanks to a trade with Ding. Nice golden yellow color, white suds about one centimeter thick. It smells like dirt with a hint of honey. The taste has more honey character and is an easy quaffer. Apparently this was a Gold medal winner at GABF back in 2007 and it is quite easy to drink but I find nothing special or exceptional about it.

Pours a clear lemon gold. A thin white head forms and falls quickly. No lace.
Aroma is light, honey sweetness.
Flavor is a more developed than the aroma. Honey malt, as well as a sweet citrus before it gives way to a distinct bitterness that lingers into the finish. No specific hop character.
Light body with too much soda pop carbonation. Nicely dry finish.

Definitely a lawnmower beer. Light, crisp. Apparently, I'm not the only one with overcarbonation problems, but it's still a solid brew. If I was tubing on the river and this is all I had... well, I'd be pretty damn happy.

A- Light yellow color, semi-clear, thin fluffy white head that faded fairly quickly, a few tiny bubbles rising

S- Grains, sweet, grassy, light hops, hint of lemon

T- Citrus, grain, wheat, candy, bready, slightly sour at times

M- Light/medium body, medium carbonation, crisp, chewy, dry finish

D- Worth trying

Good appearance and good auroma but slightly lacking in flavor in my opinion. I'm not really down with the slightly sour taste.
