Pours with a head of fluffy white foam. The body is clear. The foam settlesd leaving a decent lace.

A light aroma of malt with hops and fruity pear. Sweet malty taste Some hoppyness in the malt. Finishes ok. A little to much carbonation for my palate, but it is drinkable. Not to impressed with this offering from this brewer .

Opaque golden/orange color with a nice head and ample lacing. Smell is pleasant, more yeasty or bready than I expected. Less hoopy than I expected. The taste belies the smell with plenty of flavor, mostly floral and mildly bitter. A delicious pale malty flavor makes this a balanced and very flavorful beer. Medium carbonation that goes down easy. A very well done bitter. "Hometown Beer's a Hit"

A - Pours with a huge, three finger head of fluffy white foam. The body is perfectly clear and golden. The foam settles at a moderate pace and leaves decent lace.

S - A light aroma of bready malt with some musty hops and fruity yeast notes of red apple and pear.

T - Sweet malt up front with a light fruit note, red apple and plum. Some earthy hops in the middle with more bready malt. Finishes with a nice combination of fruity yeast and earthy hops along with moderate bitterness.

M - Medium body, very high carbonation, and a slightly sweet finish.

D - This is a pretty nice ESB. The malt and hops are appropriate and well balanced with a nice yeast character. The color is a bit lighter than I would normally expect for the style and the carbonation is way too high, being excessive to the point that is makes it hard to enjoy the subtle flavors of the beer. Nevertheless, it is an enjoyable brew and better than most of the beers that I have encountered from this brewery.

It's nice to see a well made English Pale that is highly drinkable and non-offensive to anyone.

A medium golden, light copper color beer pours with a froathy off-white head that lasts the session and laces very well. A mild dry-hopped haze shows through the light.

Spicy and earthy hops shine through a well-attenuated caramel scent. Graham crackers and light apples and pears give a light estery aroma. Not overly complex or attention-getting, just nice and simple.

Flavors pick up with the crisp caramel, biscuity taste but low on sweetness. Attenuated well to allow the hop flavor of pine, spice, and light floral notes to gain precedence. A bit minerally, which accentuates a grain husk flavor- perhaps this hurts the finish a bit.

Medium mouthfeel is quickly fleeting into a dry, spicy finish with a hint of mint and alcohol. The beer acheives great attenuation and largely avoids thinning, graininess, and heat.

A highly drinkable beer, done the right way. This beer is effortless and a joy to drink. Thanks Ding.

Pours a clear light gold with mild to light carbonation visible. A light white head that left lacing on my glass.

Smell of a weak citrus fruity aroma and pale malts. Not a whole lot else.

Taste of bitterness. Not specifically grapefruit or citrus bitterness, but just bitter. Not overly bitter, but definitely bitter. There is some fruit flavor in the beer as well, similar to a weakened juicy fruit flavor.

Mouthfeel pretty light, some would say watery. From what I gather this is a lower abv, but none listed on Beer advocate to help me out. Also cannot find a freshness dating or ABV on the label. I do however know that it won the Bronze award at the 2008 Beer World Cup for Bitters.

(Served in a nonic)
A- This beer pours a crystal clear body of orange with strands of tiny bubbles supporting a huge head that is rocky and last and last.
S- The slightly sweet slightly musty aroma of raw grain is followed by a full green hop bitterness in the finish. There is a faint orange quality that comes through when the beer is pretty warm.
T- The softer malt flavors are similar to the aroma with some more biscuit malt flavors coming out. The malt bill start to take on more fruity esters and pale malt flavor as it opens up. The finish has a big pungency to the hop bite and that pungent bite lingers after each sip.
M- This beer has a medium-light mouthfeel with a full fizz prick on the tongue.
D- This beer has a dry raw grain flavor that is a bit to dry and everything is dominated by the big hop bitterness.

Thanks once again to mrandypandy for another Southern gem!

It pours a hazy gold with a one finger head of nearly white. The head relaxes to a skim, and finally just a few floating islets.

Not a strong smell, but quite tasty, very light pale malt and floral/bitter. Along the way to room temp. the yeasty aspects join the bouquet, and it gets even better.

Very full flavor, even for the style, nice, starting with some caramel, bread, and neutral sweet that hooks into some earthy bitter and rides to a clean, semi-juicy, semi-dry finish. Like a good English version there are a lot of underflavors in there, hard to pin down, but which add to the taste in a wonderful way. Tart aspects, and even some fruity aspects, appear as the beer warms, and the bitter of the finish becomes more pronounced.

Mouthfeel is where this beer falls down. It is tastefully low carb. but maybe a bit too low carb., it is viscous to give the hop aspects some stay power, but maybe just a bit too oily for the style. A very good beer could be even better here.

Drinkability is good, I could picture drinking a few of these.

Impression: Yet another fine beer I won't get again without a long road trip

Glassware - Shaker Pint

Appearance - Clear golden in color with no real head to speak of. There was a small white cap of a head after the pour that settled in to a thinner cap but I wouldn't call it a head. Some light lacing on the glass.

Nose - A little bit of green apple on top of some light biscuit malt. There really isn't too much more to it. I'm beginning to become disappointed.

Taste - Nice spicy, herbal hops with a very faint bitterness on the back of the tongue. The rest of the taste is about the same as the nose but it is covered nicely by the hop taste and bitterness and is really a background note that isn't all that offensive.

Mouthfeel - On the heavier side of a light body... or the lighter side of a medium body. Whatever.

Overall - I'm a little disappointed but I'm glad to have tried this. It doesn't taste bad and I will probably buy it again in the future to give another batch a shot.

This bottle was at least nine months old at the time of the review.

Pours dark yellow with little to no white head. There is hardly any aroma, with some malt being present. The flavor is different than expected, with lots of caramel malt and possibly even some chocolate. There is some hop presence, but it has probably faded over time. Medium mouthfeel and lower carbonation. Even though this is an old beer, I still really enjoyed it even though it is probably not as the brewer intended.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass

A: Almost clear, golden orange, nice big shaving cream head, foamy with good lace blotches

S: Sort of resiny, skunky hops, hints of a malt backbone, kind of strange aroma

T: Nice building hop bitterness that doesn't seem to stop, it builds but the flavor doesn't seem to develop the bitterness just increases, it doesn't help that no malt backs it up in the taste, leaves texture in the mouth afterward

M: Good, about what I would expect, has body but doesn't get in the way

D: If there was more balance it would be higher

Notes: I really like bitters. I especially like all the hop presence balanced out by the malt backbone usually. This one however doesn't really have a malt backbone in terms of flavor. I would definitely like to see some more malt and also more hop flavor instead of just the high bitterness.

I had this on tap at TAP in Atlanta. Served in a standard pint, the beer is gold/bronze with a huge fluffy off-white head with clingy lacing.

The nose is of bready malts and light caramel nose. Some floral based hops.

Taste is mildly bitter with grains, toasted bagel and some light brown sugar. Turns earthy late.

Mouth is slightly thin but the carbonation is perfect. Easy drinker that went well with the tasty food at TAP.

On tap at Kickbacks in Jax. Short lasting white head gives way to straw golden ale with an aroma of...not hops? Not sure what the aroma is actually? I assume that it smells bitter but I'm used to bitterness in the form of hops and this one is a bit different. Sort of has the aftertaste of a Miller High Life. Obviously not my favorite style of beer, this one is not unpleasant, but probably not one that I would seek again.
