A 305ml pull cap bottle with a best before date of April 2017, poured into a Moonzen teku glass.
Appearance: It poured a wonderful clear golden orange colour with a slightly less than two finger white head that dissipated quickly and left some sparse lacing.
Aroma: On the light side, but there’s sweet malt, biscuit, grass, caramel and a touch of lemon.
Taste: Sweet malt, grain, grass, floral notes, lemon, apple and honey.
Mouthfeel: Medium to light bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: If only Suntory made their beers as good as their whiskies… Master’s Dream was easy to drink and was not bad, but at the same time nothing special either.

I had this beer first when it was a bit warmer than fridge temperature and it was quite bad and sweet. This time it was cooled properly and it started to remind me of what it is supposed to be - a Pilsner.
Although it is missing the intensity of the Saaz hops, still the aroma is the strength of this beer - everything else is inferior to it. The flavor REMINDS me of a pilsener but it’s somewhat a far cry. Although it is not bad, it is somehow weak, you definitely feel that the beer is lacking the intensity and hoppy character that makes real pilsners so outstanding. This one goes down quick but nothing much more than that. It might be the Dream of a Japanese Master, because they just can’t get it right and make it just like the real thing...

This is a well crafted, relatively bold pilsner with ample hops and a bit more medium dark grains than usual. The latter is reflected in the deep amber color of the clear body. Good balance. Medium body and medium carbonation with a crisp finish.

It's sweet, almost overwhelmingly so-- sticky, sugary, and cloying. The skunked hops are here too, violating my mouth. This is almost undrinkably bad. How, Suntory? You had the advertising and know how (or maybe not) and you missed the mark by a nautical mile. Avoid at all costs.
