This is a very interesting pale ale. It certainly looks like one with a nice deep golden tone. It really drinks like a high quality Czech pilsner, however! I really enjoyed it. Thanks to Snaotheus for sending it to me!

Pours a brilliantly clear dark gold color with a creamy, soapy white head that seems to go away quite quickly.
Aroma is malt sweetness forward, getting artificial strawberry and some caramel. Maybe a hint of guava and some underlying roastiness.
Flavor starts toasty and bready then goes into that weird artificial strawberry thing. Not getting much hop aroma, but I am getting appropriate bitterness for the style. Sweetness is a bit stays around longer than appreciated. Has a bit of a green apple flavor, the more I sip on it.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a bit of stickyness. Carbonation is south of moderate, maybe bordering on light. Alcohol warmth is hardly noticed.
Overal, not a good APA, but basically fits into the style. It's inoffensive and probably fine if you just want a break from plain old Japanese Lagers.
