Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint glass.

A: Slightly hazy, medium amber color with one finger of persistent off-white foam head. Light lacing remains on the glass.

S: Malty and estery, with caramel and faint mixed fruit.

T: Begins off-dry, with focused toasty malt that shows a fermented, crystal, character into the middle. Aromatic flavors are herbaceous at first, then turning earthy later. Esters are distinct, sharp early but lingering into the finish. Bitterness is mild, detected only very late.

M: Thin to medium viscosity, smooth and slightly creamy on the palate, with moderate carbonation.

D/O: This California common is malty and full-flavored, with abundant husky crystal malt coming through on the palate. It begs to be paired with pizza, pasta, and hamburgers, providing a fine balance of robust carbohydrate and savory refreshment.

Flavorful and grainy. Just a touch of sulphury flavors. Slightly hazy amber in the glass. Very nice head and a pleasant foamy feel in the mouth. Light body. Not much in the way of aroma, however the touch of malt is rather perfumey as you taste. Pretty plain stuff. However, it does prove to be quite drinkable though the stew of flavors does not come together for me. But taking another gulp is easy.

Interesting that the very informative label notes that malt and hops were both German products.

Bomber poured into a pint glass. Deep gold, verging on amber, with a puffy off-white canopy. Aroma is very strange and takes a couple whiffs before I even understand what's happening. Smells like Fanta. Part the orange kind and part the strawberry kind. There are some tangy malt notes and a bit of crystal malt too. Flavor is thankfully not similar to any sugarbomb soda products. Kind of a spicy/toasted malt profile with mild esters up front and a mild herbal hoppiness in the finish. The bitterness is not so mild, in fact it's rather prominent for the style. Prickly carbonation could stand to be a little lower. This is definitely more complex than everybody's California Common benchmark Anchor Steam, but I think the esters and alcohol hurt the drinkability enough that I'd still prefer the Anchor. Solid beer in its own right.

Clear, medium amber with a dense beige cap. Good head retention with sticky spots and sheets of lacing on the glass. Fruity aroma, light citrus with a powdery character, lemon and slight phenol spiciness, some grapefruit pith. Medium bitterness, light citrus, a hint of biscuit or bread, with light alcohol or phenol in the finish. Decent texture, medium body with lowish carbonation. It was okay, but didn't seem to have the smoothness I expected.

22 oz. bomber,

A: Pours a clear medium amber to orange with a thick white head, leaving strong profuse lace. Great head retention.

S: Notes of honey and caramel, toffee, Munich malts, has an Oktoberfest style nose, with a bit more fruitiness.

T: Caramel, malty flavours, again very Oktoberfest like. Some good hopping comes in on the back end to give balance, with a hint of pine and cantaloupe rind.

M: Smooth, light to medium-bodied, frothy, fresh and you can feel it.

O: Not a striking beer, but a very good one. Nice to see another quality product from Moylan's and especially one that's a sub-$4 bomber.

Pale copper-amber, big off-white head slowly shrinking to thin ring.

Aroma is spicy green grass, citrus, lots of grain, dry bread, faintly caramelly and flowery.

Taste is juicy-zesty with caramelized toast and barley, spicy-leafy-peppery-flowery bitterness that is firm but mild and balanced with the sweetness. It has a light tea element and hint of Bergamot, giving a light Earl Grey-tea quality. It’s very good, and somewhat interesting.
