Poured from a brown 22 oz. bottle. Has a cloudy, orange/beige color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is dank, herbal, malts, light citrus. Taste is bitter, dank, resin, some malts, just a touch of alcohol, did I mention bitter? Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall, if you are looking for a hop bomb, you will find it here.

Aroma is very spicy/dank hops and citrus/fruit. The flavor is citrus, fruit, grapefruit, malts, mild tropical fruit and a mix of spicy hops, bitterness and slight sweetness in the finish.

Poured from 22 oz bomber into snifter. No bottle date, but was told it was bottled on 1/26.

A: Clear golden Amber with 2 finger white head. Nice retention and leaving some moderate lacing.

S: Big dank, earthy and floral hops dominant the nose. Grapefruit, oranges, and pine cones.

T: Full on hop assault without being overly bitter. Some citrus with grapefruit and orange peel. Pine and herbal hops. Alcohol is reasonably well hidden here.

M: Medium body with fairly light carbonation and oily hops resins coating the tongue.

O: If you are a fan of big beers and big hops, then this would be right up your alley. Recommended for sure if you can find it fresh.

This beer pours a very cloudy orange color with a 2 finger frothy off white head. Retention is great and there is a lot of spotted lacing. Smell is sweet and bready malt with some pine, grapefruit and bitter dankness. Taste is the same, but way too malty and boozy. Feel is heavy side of medium, oily and sticky. Overall it's not bad, but a bit of a boozy/malty mess. Devil Dancer is the immediate comparison that comes to mind, but I much prefer Devil Dancer to this.

Orange and light auburn appearance, mild head develops. Aroma was plenty of green hop citrus impact.

Taste was thick, syrupy, dank bitterness. A little bit of fruit in the tropical realm flavor, not a ton, bitterness and heavy malt dominates. Might as well be a barleywine with tons of crystal malt.

22 oz bomber, tulip

A – Deep amber, almost like ruby red grapefruit, with a lot of haze, though not what I’d call turbid. Just highly unfiltered. Very little head, just some off-white bubbles that barely register and then disappear.

S – A huge nose of resin, pine, and woodsy herbal hops, followed by grapefruit, orange. Sweet caramel and sourdough bread make up the malt profile, along with a bit of toffee.

T – Orange and pine are very prominent, along with moderate woodsy resin. A ton of caramel and bready malt is prominent, enveloping and overtaking the hop flavors before a bitter hop assault outflanks everything else. At each it point it seems out of balance, as a whole there is harmony.

M – Carbonation is moderate-low, perhaps in relation to the very full/heavy body. Not quite the malt bomb of 120 Minute IPA, this instead ventures toward American Barleywine territory. A lot of sweetness, but intense bitterness wins the day. Not dry.

O – If you’re looking for a bold beer, in many respects, you will find one here. Feels like it’s been executed as intended. Enjoyable.

To make a beer this hoppy and this bitter drinkable is a crowning achievement. This beer is just hops all the way. I don't even notice the high alcohol content. I would definitely have this again, but maybe stick to one tulip.

Poured from the bottle a clear, dark orange with three fingers of frothy off-white head.

Big juicy hop aroma of grapefruit, orange and pine. And light caramel malts.

The taste was just as juicy as the aroma with grapefruit, orange and pine. Finished with solid caramel malt notes for a good balance. Warm boozy notes from the 10.4% abv.

Medium bodied and smooth with a lighter carbonation.

Hop syrup. I prefer some other TIPA's but this is good for what it is. Unless you want the hop abuse to your stomach, split the bottle with 2-3 people. And buy some Tums.

22oz bomber, poured into Sam's special beer-drinking glass a nice hazy golden hue with minimal head. Initial scent was all hops! Taste was same, full of citrus and pine goodness! The 10.4% abv isn't so noticeable, but after half the glass, you fill it. Well done Moylan!!

A deep golden, almost orange pour out of a waxed bomber. Very cloudy with a huge, frothy off-white head that disappears quick, but leaves significant lacing behind.

Aroma is sweet bready malts initially. Then grassy, floral, and citrus hops. It has a slight skunkiness to it reminiscent of some Euro lagers.

A lot of sweet carmel malts up front to match the nose. Then the hops remind you it's a west coast brew. Surprising amount of citrus. More sweet than sour. Pineapple and tons of mango. The sweetness from the fruit is almost candy like. Still some classic pine flavor too. Solid bitter aftertaste. I didnt check the abv, but alcohol is not noticeable.

Very creamy, full bodied IPA. It leaves a nice oily resin coating on your tongue. Carbonation is just about perfect.

This is a kick-ass, well balanced monster of an IPA. I would have called this a mod west style DIPA at first glance and smell, but it really is a hybrid midwest, and west coast, with a touch of east coast. This is world class in my opinion, and one of the top 10-15 IPA/DIPA/TIPAs I have had. Surprised by some of the scores.

Appearance – Pours a clear golden orange color with a nice head and decent lacing.

Smell – A blast of pine and citrus (grapefruit); this is definitely a hop bomb.

Taste – More hoppiness. Pine and citrus flavor. I'm not a big fan of this much hops, but I like piney hops more so than citrus hops, so this is decent.

Mouthfeel – Nicely carbonated but a little bitter, with a hoppy bitterness that lingers in the aftertaste.

Drinkability – To me this is a bit over-hopped, but still pretty good.

Pours a light amber orange-yellow with a thick two finger head of sticky foam.

Grass, pine, grapefruit, pineapple, and caramel.

Strong tropical notes of mango and pineapple, caramel malt, and some grass and pine notes.

Medium-heavy bodied, medium-high carbonation, slightly chewy, strong hop bitterness.

Overall, the pungent hop aroma works its way into a very bitter citrusy and earthy hop bitterness. Not well balanced, but tasty nonetheless.

thanks to my brother tenderbranson69 for sharing this with me, enjoyed chilled from the bomber in a tulip.

The color is amber with rosy tinge and thin tan head crowns with fine bead and waves of lace stick. the smell is very tangy/fruity almost tropical from the hops with floral and woody odors in the smell with mild alcohol aroma. The feel is tangy and fruity with intense bitterness and medium high carbonation with mild sweetness and semi-dry finish with moderately high alcohol warming and long residual bitter finish.

The taste starts tangy juicy with grapefruit and mango with a light acidity in the hop with woody bitter herbal gently tropical flavors with moderately strong alcohol in the taste with an almost candy coated hop type taste with extremely bitter and drying effect from alcohol with nice citrus aspect in the finish. Overall -AssKicker! not one to take lightly or drink on a clean palate perhaps(haha)the XXXX is for bitterness level and alcohol -but overall this is a very decent Imperial IPA

A: Pours deep golden amber with a creamy off white head that settles and laces well.

S: Citrus hops, some tropical fruit, caramel malt sweetness, and a little light alcohol.

T: Citrus hops up front, grapefruit and a little orange, tropical fruit, mango, strong caramel malt sweetness to back it, and a light bit of alcohol on the back end.

M: Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, a little alcohol warmth.

O: Pretty tasty, but nothing super special. Just a well done brew.

Had a hard time finishing this, it was so intensely bitter.

Don't know why this is listed as "retired." Not only did I have it on tap last night, it's also just been released in bottles.

Pours hazed golden amber with a lasting creamy head. Lacing sticks.

The smell is a plethora of citrus - especially mango, and pine.

The taste is of mango, orange, grapefruit and pine with a firm sweetness that leans towards caramel. Booze shows in the bitter finish, but not too sharply.

It hits full-bodied, alcohol warmth and hop oils linger on the tongue.

A wonderfully hopped DIPA!

Pours a brilliant copper hue with a fluffy off-white head. Smell is citrus with hints of grassy lemon and grapefruit. Also expresses some extremely dank, cannabis character. Taste is identical to the aroma. Some have said alcohol was present, but I don't get it much at all. The hops and malt balance this beer beautifully, and alcohol is hardly detected. Mouthfeel is slick and resinous, but still very clean on the finish. This beer is highly drinkable even given it's ABV. One of the best examples of the style I have had in a long time! Seek this one out!

Pours an orangey, medium amber. It looks a tiny bit hazy, but I think it's just the color and density of the beer. Medium head, just a touch off white. Lots of fine bubbles with good retention. The aroma is milder than expected. Pretty standard grapefruit, pine and floral flavors. Some booze, but not too bad. Some caramel maltiness. Sweet bubblegum note knocking around. The taste is sweet and rich with hop flavor. Quite a bit of pine resin and grapefruit. Mild bitterness at first, builds to moderate towards the end and in the finish. Some booze. It's a >10% abv DIPA, so that's forgivable, but it's all a bit much. There's a lot of flavor, and it's kinda messy. The malt comes through but pretty much just as simple sweetness. Fairly astringent. Still, it's tasty. Fairly heavy mouthfeel. Long finish. Oily. Interesting beer. Tons of flavor. It just feels like they tried to make it big without much other thought.

This beer is one beast of a brew. It's a quad IPA, so it damn well needs to be dripping with hops. I had very high hopes for this beer. Very high. As a hophead, I'm constantly looking for beers that push hops to the limit. Triple IPA are completely awesome enough, but a quad?? Jesus Lord Christ. I had no idea what to expect. It pours a very crisp and clear orange gold. Light head that quickly dissipates. Very beautiful beer. The smell is very hoppy, which is to be expected. The smell is the only quality of this beer that isn't absolutely 5/5. The smell was slightly too alcoholic for my liking. But with a 10%+ content, not much you can do in that department. The taste is absolutely spot on. The hop overload is awesomely balanced and the floral and citrus hops are used optimally. Overall, this beer is up there with the best beers I've had the pleasure of trying. Dare I say this is better than the legendary Pliny the Younger? Not sure about that but it is definite up in that category. Definitely revisiting once I can afford to drop $14 on a 22 oz bomber. But yes. If you find it and you are serious about your hops, this is a must.

First time even hearing about this beer was at Cape Fear Wine & Beer in Wilmington North Carolina. I was surprised it was only 9.4%. Color was good but it was clear which threw me off a little. I like my IPAs murky. Hops were plentiful... I'd expect no less from a XXXXIPA. taste was good but not spectacular... still solid and (too) easy to drink all night. At $6.00 a pint you couldn't go wrong.

On-tap at Thirsty Monk, Asheville, NC

A: The beer is slightly hazy orange amber in color. It poured with a thin white head that died down, leaving a thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass and some lacing down the sides.
S: Light to moderate aromas of pine resin hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell, except that the pine resin hop flavors are stronger and linger through the finish. A light to moderate amount of bitterness is present.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied, crisp and a little sticky on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. The beer also leaves a little bite in the finish from the alcohol.
O: This beer has a good balance between the malts and hops. It isn't too difficult to drink because it hides its alcohol well.

A - orangish amber with a thin, white head that has good retention

S - huge grapefruit aroma, some alcohol

T - herbal, piny, grapefruit, bitter, faint malt presence

M - medium bodied, smooth, well carbonated

On draft on 4/20, Waldo day.

Compared to Waldos by the bartender, had to try it. Served in a footed chalice glass, the beer was bright orange with a thin later of sticky white foam on the surface. Aroma was dry and piney. Flavor was similar. Not especially pungent or dank, it was dry and piney tasting also, a little oxidized. Medium bodied with a hint of alcohol present. Overall wasn't really worth trying, and probably wouldn't pick up a bottle of this if it was available, though it wasn't terrible.
