On tap at Tony's Darts Away in Burbank, CA.

Pours a slightly hazy dark honey orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus zest, grapefruit extract, and herbal hop aromas. Taste is the same with some brown sugar and malt flavors on the finish. The bitterness on this one is quite high and lingers after each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer that is hoppy as hell. Definitely the best Moylan's beer I have had to date.

On-tap at Thirsty Monk, Asheville, NC

A: The beer is slightly hazy orange amber in color. It poured with a thin white head that died down, leaving a thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass and some lacing down the sides.
S: Light to moderate aromas of pine resin hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell, except that the pine resin hop flavors are stronger and linger through the finish. A light to moderate amount of bitterness is present.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied, crisp and a little sticky on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. The beer also leaves a little bite in the finish from the alcohol.
O: This beer has a good balance between the malts and hops. It isn't too difficult to drink because it hides its alcohol well.

On draft on 4/20, Waldo day.

Compared to Waldos by the bartender, had to try it. Served in a footed chalice glass, the beer was bright orange with a thin later of sticky white foam on the surface. Aroma was dry and piney. Flavor was similar. Not especially pungent or dank, it was dry and piney tasting also, a little oxidized. Medium bodied with a hint of alcohol present. Overall wasn't really worth trying, and probably wouldn't pick up a bottle of this if it was available, though it wasn't terrible.

It was a pleasure to find this on tap at Sticks and Stones last week.Poured into a standard pint glass a burnt orange color with a half finger white head atop. The aromas were like a smack to the face...in a good way, grapefruit rind and a big dose of pine resin, there was no malt detected just in your face fresh juicy hops.Flavors were of sharp bitter grapefruit, almost like drinking spiked pink grapefruit juice, the pine is underneath the grapefruit flavors but are there, some sweet alcohol lightly creeps but is still pretty subdued for how big the beer is.This was a true in your face hop bomb,no big sweet sugary flavors just hop joy.It kicked ass.

thanks to my brother tenderbranson69 for sharing this with me, enjoyed chilled from the bomber in a tulip.

The color is amber with rosy tinge and thin tan head crowns with fine bead and waves of lace stick. the smell is very tangy/fruity almost tropical from the hops with floral and woody odors in the smell with mild alcohol aroma. The feel is tangy and fruity with intense bitterness and medium high carbonation with mild sweetness and semi-dry finish with moderately high alcohol warming and long residual bitter finish.

The taste starts tangy juicy with grapefruit and mango with a light acidity in the hop with woody bitter herbal gently tropical flavors with moderately strong alcohol in the taste with an almost candy coated hop type taste with extremely bitter and drying effect from alcohol with nice citrus aspect in the finish. Overall -AssKicker! not one to take lightly or drink on a clean palate perhaps(haha)the XXXX is for bitterness level and alcohol -but overall this is a very decent Imperial IPA

Pours hazed golden amber with a lasting creamy head. Lacing sticks.

The smell is a plethora of citrus - especially mango, and pine.

The taste is of mango, orange, grapefruit and pine with a firm sweetness that leans towards caramel. Booze shows in the bitter finish, but not too sharply.

It hits full-bodied, alcohol warmth and hop oils linger on the tongue.

A wonderfully hopped DIPA!

On tap at Bottle Revolution

A - orangish amber with a thin, white head that has good retention

S - huge grapefruit aroma, some alcohol

T - herbal, piny, grapefruit, bitter, faint malt presence

M - medium bodied, smooth, well carbonated

This is a really solid, over-the-top hopped beer. It really brings the punch for hop heads. It's definitely worth a try.

On-tap at Beachwood I,

A: Pours a light amber to orange with a medium white head, solid lace.

S: Huge amount of pine, Christmas tree, big hop profile.

T: Malt is minimal this is all about the hops. Heavy dose of pine, some grapefruit, the ethanol is there, but never goes over the top.

M: Medium to full-bodied, long hoppy aftertaste, lightly boozy.

O: This reminds me a ton of Younger vintage 2011. A good beer, not wowing me, Hopsickle is better, but worth a try.

Nice orange and amber appearance, very thin creation of white head on the top of the beer. Aroma was great, just like fresh hopsickle, plenty of waves of citrus fruit and hop vegetal qualities drown out the gigantic alcohol, malt, sugar presence necessary to achieve something approaching equilibrium.

Nice taste, thick, oily, sweet and hoppy with plenty of bitterness. Pineapple? I think so. A pretty good tropical fruit flavor when making such a massive beer, allows you to not have to have as heavy of a malt presence or sugary sweetness for counterbalance I thinks.

Hides the alcohol quite well, but you do feel the heat minutes later when you exhale like a mouthbreather. One of my more favorite offerings under the triple ipa tent.

Served in a ten ounce footed glass at the brewery.

A: Clear honey amber. Very little head.

S: Hops. Hops. Hops. Grapefruit.

T: Irresponsibly hoppy. Herbal, strong, and astringent. Light malt base is overtaken by the spicy-bitter

M: moderate

O: This is a very hoppy IPA. I might have another. Would recommend only to hopheads.

On draught at Bailey's and served in a snifter, Hop Craic is dark gold with a small creamy off-white head leaving some foamy lace.

Smell is big on the cat piss "C" hops, and some earthy pine.

Taste pungent grapefruit hops. Whoa. This sucker is intense, very wood/stemmy flavor as well, with a firm bitterness. Unapologetic. A little bread note creeps through from the hops, and the alcohol character is very clean.

Mouthfeel is bone dry, oily resins, medium light bodied.

Drinkability is pretty good, it's a flavor bomb, but they're fairly compelling flavors. It's also rather clean, which makes it dangerous at first, although my palate was quickly fatigued by the intense bitterness.

Orange and light auburn appearance, mild head develops. Aroma was plenty of green hop citrus impact.

Taste was thick, syrupy, dank bitterness. A little bit of fruit in the tropical realm flavor, not a ton, bitterness and heavy malt dominates. Might as well be a barleywine with tons of crystal malt.

Pours amber with a fading head.
Nose shows sweet clean syrupy malt, along with some pine and grapefruit. Very sweet smelling though.
Lots of sweet clean malt as a flavour at first, pretty. Sharp piny hops follow leading to an aggressive bitterness.
Body seems a little too thick.

Pours an orangey, medium amber. It looks a tiny bit hazy, but I think it's just the color and density of the beer. Medium head, just a touch off white. Lots of fine bubbles with good retention. The aroma is milder than expected. Pretty standard grapefruit, pine and floral flavors. Some booze, but not too bad. Some caramel maltiness. Sweet bubblegum note knocking around. The taste is sweet and rich with hop flavor. Quite a bit of pine resin and grapefruit. Mild bitterness at first, builds to moderate towards the end and in the finish. Some booze. It's a >10% abv DIPA, so that's forgivable, but it's all a bit much. There's a lot of flavor, and it's kinda messy. The malt comes through but pretty much just as simple sweetness. Fairly astringent. Still, it's tasty. Fairly heavy mouthfeel. Long finish. Oily. Interesting beer. Tons of flavor. It just feels like they tried to make it big without much other thought.

On cask at the brewery. Reviewed from notes.

A: Served in a 10oz tulip; color is light golden and clear. There is a faint collar of a head that left great sticky patches and streaks of lace down the glass as I drank.
S: Piney and bitter smelling with huge notes of citrus hops as well. This is definitely a hop bomb.
T: Very fresh and piney hops with a good dose of cut grass and hop resin. Grapefruit and bitter citrus rind bring up the finish. Hops are just crushing. The finish is very bitter and dry, and I get a hint of mint lingering in the aftertaste. Malt is pretty mush nowhere to be found.
M: Full body but very smooth and slick mouthfeel. Drying, and for the ABV I was expecting this to be way more boozy, viscous, and syrupy. Not so. Very drinkable and dangerous. Soft carbonation.
O: Booze is hidden fairly well, great mouthfeel, definitely a hop bomb. In classic Moylan’s style, this beer tastes like fresh hop cones and is bitter as hell.

On tap at the Twisted Tasting in Santa Cruz. This probably wasn’t the best beer to go with early in the evening. Turns out they weren’t joking with the whole "quadruple IPA" thing. Yeah they’re exaggerating, but this beer is a beast. Definitely hoppier than Hopsickle, which they call a triple IPA. The aroma catapults out of the glass with resinous dank citrus galore. It’s a sweet aroma but I didn’t get any malt contributing to it. Just an old fashioned nasal hop orgy. They really got the hop combination right here. Flavor is similarly great. It starts out with some herbal yet fruity hops, carrying some sweetness, before delving into a chasm of bitterness. This is a beer with a sense of timing. The pace at which it transforms from candied citrus wrapped in pine foliage to tongue-zapping dry bitterness is almost poetic. Too many samey IPAs have jaded me from the style recently but this one brings me back.

Got my growler filled up at my local Cellarbrations Carlisle and i must say im excited,it pours a hazy apricot hue which leaves a three finger creamy head and nice lacing everywhere it really does look nice, the smell isnt as full on as i expected and has aromas of pineapple, mangoes, sour sherbet straps and fresh apples, the mouthfeel is full bodied, creamy with moderate carbonation which suits perfectly and has tastes very similar to smell with hints of pineapple, mangoes, kiwi fruit, sherbet, boiled candy, bubblegum and finished with a nice smooth hit of piney bitter hops and overall this is great i love it and for a beer with a massive ABV the alcohol is beautifully and scarily well hidden and if i saw this again id get the squealer filled with it aswell as the growler,a must try.

Poured from the bottle a clear, dark orange with three fingers of frothy off-white head.

Big juicy hop aroma of grapefruit, orange and pine. And light caramel malts.

The taste was just as juicy as the aroma with grapefruit, orange and pine. Finished with solid caramel malt notes for a good balance. Warm boozy notes from the 10.4% abv.

Medium bodied and smooth with a lighter carbonation.

Hop syrup. I prefer some other TIPA's but this is good for what it is. Unless you want the hop abuse to your stomach, split the bottle with 2-3 people. And buy some Tums.

Poured from 22 oz bomber into snifter. No bottle date, but was told it was bottled on 1/26.

A: Clear golden Amber with 2 finger white head. Nice retention and leaving some moderate lacing.

S: Big dank, earthy and floral hops dominant the nose. Grapefruit, oranges, and pine cones.

T: Full on hop assault without being overly bitter. Some citrus with grapefruit and orange peel. Pine and herbal hops. Alcohol is reasonably well hidden here.

M: Medium body with fairly light carbonation and oily hops resins coating the tongue.

O: If you are a fan of big beers and big hops, then this would be right up your alley. Recommended for sure if you can find it fresh.

On tap, surprisingly, at Harry's Hofbrau in Redwood City.

A: Comes in a snifter. Clear amber body with little to no head; apparently it fades quite quickly. No lace. Slightly leggy.

S: Syrupy sweetness and a touch of pine and grapefruit. Not particularly expressive on the nose.

T: A powerful up-front sweetness with a modest flavoring dose of pine, some grapefruit. Lots of bitter, grassy hops that define the mid-taste and pull into the post-finish for a sticky, palate-wrecking close.

M: Oily, syrupy; these qualities would work well if it weren't for the bitterness that comes with them. The carbonation can't keep up; it fails to scrub the palate.

O: I was told this was a month-old keg; I don't know if that's true, but it certainly explains why a triple IPA smells and tastes rather un-hoppy. I can't in good conscience recommend this.

A deep golden, almost orange pour out of a waxed bomber. Very cloudy with a huge, frothy off-white head that disappears quick, but leaves significant lacing behind.

Aroma is sweet bready malts initially. Then grassy, floral, and citrus hops. It has a slight skunkiness to it reminiscent of some Euro lagers.

A lot of sweet carmel malts up front to match the nose. Then the hops remind you it's a west coast brew. Surprising amount of citrus. More sweet than sour. Pineapple and tons of mango. The sweetness from the fruit is almost candy like. Still some classic pine flavor too. Solid bitter aftertaste. I didnt check the abv, but alcohol is not noticeable.

Very creamy, full bodied IPA. It leaves a nice oily resin coating on your tongue. Carbonation is just about perfect.

This is a kick-ass, well balanced monster of an IPA. I would have called this a mod west style DIPA at first glance and smell, but it really is a hybrid midwest, and west coast, with a touch of east coast. This is world class in my opinion, and one of the top 10-15 IPA/DIPA/TIPAs I have had. Surprised by some of the scores.

Had this cask version at the brewery in Novato yesterday. Reviewed from notes.

Pours a lightly hazy gold with long lasting, pillowy head. Pine, citrus and floral hops fill my nostrils with a quick sniff. Some sweetness is in there too. The taste is intense bitterness and walls of hop flavors. Tropical fruit mixes with the citrus. A bit of malt sweetness shines through here and there, but at all times, the bitterness is in control. The mouthfeel is light bodied for the weight and lightly carbonated. Tooth coating bitterness lasts forever in the finish. Booze is well hidden, with just some heat here and there.

This is a fantastic... QIPA? Very hoppy and complex, and interesting to try on cask. I'd get this again for sure.

Pours a light amber orange-yellow with a thick two finger head of sticky foam.

Grass, pine, grapefruit, pineapple, and caramel.

Strong tropical notes of mango and pineapple, caramel malt, and some grass and pine notes.

Medium-heavy bodied, medium-high carbonation, slightly chewy, strong hop bitterness.

Overall, the pungent hop aroma works its way into a very bitter citrusy and earthy hop bitterness. Not well balanced, but tasty nonetheless.
