Thanks to Wowcoolman for sharing this one at jmgrub’s tasting.

Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus zest, herbal hops, and malt. Taste is much the same and slightly sweet. There is a mild bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a nice hop presence in the smell and taste.

A: The beer is hazy light amber in color. It poured with a half-finger high off white head that died down but left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface.
S: There are strong aromas of grapefruit in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste is very citrusy with strong flavors of grapefruit.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: Considering its strength, this beer is very easy to drink because the alcohol is remarkably well hidden from the taste.

A: Pours a clear deep copper to amber in color with some moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a half finger tall off-white head that reduces to a small patch of thin film in the center and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Very light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Strong aromas of tropical fruit hops (pineapple, mango, and peach) with a moderate amount of grapefruit/citrus hops behind it. The beer has a wonderful aroma, even for people that are not hop heads - very inviting.

T: Like the smell, the taste of this beer is dominated by the flavors of the hops - tropical fruit (pineapple, mango, and peach) as well as grapefruit/citrus. There is a light presence of caramel malt sweetness in the background but the hops are king. Light amounts of bitterness.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp.

O: The alcohol is extremely well hidden which makes this a dangerous beer as it drinks much more easy than the 11.5% ABV that it has. Very enjoyable with great flavor and aroma - definitely one that I would get again and a really good deal at $14 a growler fill.

Long ago, in a galaxy far away, the embryo of The CANQuest (tm) formed aboard the USS Fulton (AS-11), initially in Quincy, MA and later New London, CT. It was a floating Industrial space atop a bunch of supporting storerooms and if you walked away as a young boot, you had hit it lucky. The CANQuest (tm) was lucky to score this find!

From the CAN: "Brooklyn Crafted Since 2006"; "An imperial IPA with bold malts and huge hops"; "Created by the husband & wife team of Kelly Taylor & Sonya Giacobbe. 100 % hand made craft ales and lagers brewed fresh in the bountiful borough of Brooklyn since 2006. Mounds of malt, bales of hops and countless hours of dedication and passion. That's KelSo Beer."

My patience, or lack thereof, finally got the best of me. I CANducted a picture-perfect Crack! and then CANmenced a subtle Glug that produced a finger of tawny head that quickly fell to wisps. Color was Deep Amber/Light Copper to Copper (SRM = > 13, < 17) with NE-quality clarity. Nose smelled strongly of minty, icy hops and caramel malt. Hoo. Mouthfeel was full, like a dollop of beer, rather than a draught. Ho! I rocked back in my seat as the fusel heat ran around wild like a bunch of Minions on my tongue. Oh, my! the malt and hops worked really well in unison, creating a minty sweetness like a Brach's Mint caramel like I used to cherry-pick as a kid from my maternal grandmother's CANdy jar. Finish really rocked me, reminding me that I might need to slow down. This was no playing around! This might be a good moment to mention that the CAN was flat black, airbrushed aluminum. Industrial, indeed! Finish was dry, hot, hoppy and frankly, mind-blowing. Man, I was really reeling from this one!

Called "Industrial IPA" at DeCicco's in Ardsley...same ABV/same style listed so I'll go with it...

$8.99 for a 32 ounce growler fill.

Pours a typical shade of amber, slight haze, light tan head, creamy and luxorious, slowly going to a thick film, collar and nice webs and bands of fine lace.

Pungent hopped up nose, fortified with pinapple, mango and more resiny hop notes.

Full throtle DIPA, they are not kidding! "Industrial" sums it up. On the palate it's crunching hops, waves of tropical and citric fruit...Lots and lots of ripe pineapple dominates. Lime soaked alcohol notes trying to peak through, but the hops/malt/fruit thingy keeps their tendrils mostly at bay.

Big bold and quite heady stuff, not for the faint of heart...bring on the stinky cheese and smoked meats, I love it...please make more of it...keg it, bottle it, distribute it...
