A: The beer is very hazy brownish amber in color. It poured with a thin off white head that faded away, leaving only a thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are moderately strong citrusy aromas in the nose—grapefruit stands out in particular—along with some hints of bourbon from the barrel aging.
T: Similar to the smell, flavors of grapefruit stand out in the taste, although the hop flavors are not overpowering and only impart a light to moderate amount of bitterness. There are notes of bourbon and hints of malty sweetness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp and has a low to moderate amount of carbonation. There is some warming from the alcohol in the finish.
O: Considering its strength, this beer is very easy to drink because the alcohol is remarkably well hidden from the taste. The bourbon is well incorporated into the smell and taste—it’s not that strong but just enough so you know that it’s there.

On the cask at Bierkraft for their IPA event.
This was a weapon of a beverage. Having recently had the disaster I found Devil Dancer to be in the bottle, I was excited to have a monstrous DIPA blow me out of the water. This that beer did. Dry hopped in the firkin with centennial hops, intense aromas of vanilla, bourbon, big alcohols, juicy citrus, and a whole f'n pine tree.
The beer is aggressive about how it wants to get down with you. It could be your friend, if you want, but it doesn't really care for making friends. It does just want to punch you in the mouth. It's all love, though, homie. Solid carbonation allows the aromas to blare through. So intense.
Dear god. Dear God. What have they done?
