Another from my local, in-person trader, tone77! Keep 'em coming!
From the bottle: "When you were a little kid, what was better than oatmeal cookies and milk? Well, that's why we made this one for the "big" kids. Oatmeal Milk Stout. All of the fun of being a kid, none of the homework."
My pour may have been a bit heavy-handed, but I had read nothing in previous reviews to warn me of the massive head that it was capable of producing. I was faced with two fingers of dense, deep-tan head that resembled a chocolate milkshake before I backed off. This was going to be a Carly Simon beer - anticipation, it's making me wait. Once it finally dropped to a manageable level, leaving some decent lacing in its wake, I was ready. Color was a deep, dark cola-brown that allowed zero light penetration. Nose was quite chocolaty, but with a hint of smoke, more towards dark chocolate than milk chocolate. On that note, let us address their untruth in advertising - the "milk" is derived from their use of lactose sugar in the brewing process and the oatmeal is used to cut some of the "burnt" flavor that early versions took from the extremely roasted malts, not to add the flavor of cookies. Mouthfeel was big, thick and silky and the taste was more like sweet chocolate than the nose had led me to expect, so apparently their use of oatmeal worked. Finish was more towards milk chocolate and it was certainly sweet, so I have to give it to them in terms of style. I just wish that their label was more direct and less misleading.

12 ounce can. Pours black as coal with minimal visible carbonation. Nose is a delightful treat of roasted coffee and a hint of sweetness. Mouthfeel has a light carbonation and sweetness post swallow. A bit more body would meet my approval. Taste is a mix of coffee, milk sugar, chocolate with a back end hoppiness and dry finish. Very enjoyable beer reminiscent of Bell's Arabicadabra but a bit sweeter.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is jet black, head is tan with fine bubbles and presents 1/2 inch thick, some lacing on glass sides with a thing solid top.
Smell is light lactose, limited roast, light coffee - light aromas but come on with warmth.
Taste is blend of lactose sugar, light roast, coffee notes, hint of chocolate, dry earthy hops; soft creaminess but also drying.
Mouthfeel is low carbonation, light sweetness and light softness then drying.
Overall a very well done beer with a lighter, dryer flavor and presence than many oatmeal and/or milk stouts, making for great drinkability.

My good friend and old neighbor from the 'Wego gave me a bottle of this beer. It poured an opaque dark with ecru head tbat is not leaving much lace. The scent had roast and mocha notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with milk chocolate, roast and hints of vanilla. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

12 oz. bottle poured into Trillium The Six States glass and allowed to warm.
L: Less than 1F light tan head, OK retention, leaves a ring and most of a cap. Beer is dark brown.
S: Dairy sugar and roasted malts. Pretty basic, but certainly decent.
T: Nice roasty and malty goodness. Basic and uncomplicated, but good. Finish pretty neutral.
F: Moderate to full body, nice and creamy, little carbonation. Good construction and balance.
O: Nice job here by River Horse, New Jersey's oldest craft brewery.

Very nice milk stout with a lot of creaminess and richness. 1/24/20 "packaged" date printed on the bottle. From a brewery that's new to me. Pours a nice dark thick brown color with some off-white mocha head and just some spotty lingering lacing that formed small rings. Smells very nice, nice creamy oats with malt, roasted nuts, bread, brown sugar and a little milk chocolate. Taste follows the nose, very well-balanced and nice creaminess. Not overly sweet. Smooth, slightly sticky, creamy mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation. Very pleasant going down. A very enjoyable beer!
