River Horse- Summer Blonde

Now that I live 10-15 minutes from River Horse I can finally sample what they have to offer.

Appearance- cloudy fizzy yellow with a thin white soapy head.
Smell- grassy, wheat, and sweet.
Taste- sweet, almost sugery. Light wheat/ grain flavor.
Mouthfeel- watery.refreshing. goes down smooth. A definite lawn-mowing beer.

Overall- a decent/mediorce summer blonde,won't offend.

A: crystal clear; medium gold in color; 1 finger white head that receded to a wispy cap; no lacing;

S: grass with grain behind it; a hint of sourness;

T: evenly balanced between grass and grain; grain is a little corn-like; very mild bitterness on the finish;

M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: very easy drinking;

pours a clear golden color with a fluffy white heading that settles to a thin lacing that sticks around for about 3/4 of the tasting.

Smell is very sweet with a buttery honey type aroma.

Taste is sweet and bitter,with a funky yeasty aftertaste.

Mouth just went completley wrong for me it was overcarbonated extremely light bodied almost like a drinking carbonated water. Also it left a film covering in my mouth for dissatisfying.

Drinkability besides being light and a low ABV I really couldn't stomach to have another one of these.

Although there's still snow on the ground, I'm still going to give this summer blonde a shot since it was the final addition to the River Horse mixed twelve.
Appearanceis boring and basic, with little head and a bubbly light color with lots of carbonation. Nose is surprisingly rich and sweet with spices and chocolate malt. Not so likely with such a light color but good all the same.
The taste is slightly watery but still well balanced and clean, with residual hoppiness and smooth texture for a lighter beer. Still too much carbonation but the refeshing body carries as well.
Another fun but uninspiring beer from River Horse.

Poured into a small plastic wine glass (traveling): color is hazy straw, head is off white with fine bubbles, some head laces the glass sides.

Smell is malt, biscuit, pleasant, enticing, and probably the best quality of the ale.

Taste is also biscuit malt, toast, a bit of sharper bitterness, feint earthy hops.

Mouthfeel is a bit bitter, moderate carbonation.

Overall a good beer, great enticing aroma with good biscuit flavor.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy-golden with a long lasting, small white head. Aroma is of citrus fruit, some apples and cookies. Body is medium and crisp. Flavors are of biscuit malt, citrus fruit and hints of musty yeast. Finish is very short. On the whole it is tasty, refreshing lawn mower brew.
