Appearance: Great carbonation this beer does not have. But the pale greenish yellow is kind of cool in my opinion. Not sure if it should look like that, but there definitely is a green tint to this. Good lacing and foam.

Smell: Basically a lighter version of Golden Pheasant. Kinda weird.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Taste starts out refreshing. Sweet and lemony. Then it gets warm and gross. Mouthfeel overall is not good. Really watery and a bit slimy.

Drinkability: It's pretty obvious the water IS pure as advertised. Many rougher water would have hidden the imperfections in this.

Overall: Definitely not worth it.

An all right appearance, grainy astringent aroma … very husky. Semi-coarse crispness from the carbonation and astringent grain. Graininess get a bit overwhelming, hops are there and show a strong bitterness in proportion to the size of the beer. Odd maltiness, just not fresh … tastes pasteurized. Won’t go back to it and won’t recommend it either.

Pours with a large white head, good lacing. Smell is sweet and hoppy. Lots of bubbly carbonation. Taste is sweet and malty, very light bodied and crisp. Smooth going down with a sweet aftertaste. Overall, not bad, but not exciting either. It seemed like a good quality light beer, lacking in both the taste and body dept.

From the half-liter bottle ... pours a milky hazed yellow.
I picked up skunkiness from 6 inches away!
Moving closer, a grassy smell took over- which was preferable to
the skunk.

I plunged forward- the grassy taste brought me back to the
"sun dried PBR" of my youth. (I hid some Pabst in the garage and it got warm outside, yielding the same taste.)

Amazingly, for a Euro lager it is of average drinkability.
Perhaps not my favorite style. I'll chalk up the $1.99 as an educational expense.

I think Stanley Stawski has some better beers in his stable ...

Second Euro Pale of the night for me. For some reason I keep on picking up samples of this style.

Pours with nice carbonation producing a frothy 3 finger head sitting above a sligthly cloudy??? straw yellow body. Aroma is a little bit different. I get sweet malts and floral scents typical of this style, but there is something to this that i've never detected in a beer before. It reminds me of walking through a cow pasture that's been a few weeks without cows (if that makes sense, I used to date a farmer's daughter). Thankfully, this aroma weakens as the beer warms. Taste is typical sweet/floral with no discernable hop bite. I probably won't be picking up anymore of this beer as Zelta, Obolon, and O.K. Beer surely meet my Euro Pale Lager requirements. Memorable scent though.

A nicely decorated 500ml bottle with a metallic blue, black and gold label that reads UTENOS Alus BEER 5% ALC.VOL. It pours a hazy yellow-gold body capped by a foamy, bright-white head. The head holds OK for the style but drops to a thin collar and leaves little lace about the glass. The nose is fairly limited but does express some grainy malt and a touch of herbal hops. The body is light/medium but appears a bit fuller due to a mild carbonation. Surprisigly, however, fairly large bubbles rise steadily to the surface. Still, the mouthfeel is soft and smooth. The hop character comes across much stronger in the flavor than it does in the aroma with a gently abrasive herbal/citric note that rides atop a dullish but sweet maltiness. The bitterness is restrained, and only supportive, yet it still finishes dry with a lingering herbal and citrus hop flavor wrapped in a good amount of residual sticky-sweet malt. It passes as a decent European-style lager but deserves no merit.

I was able to procure this Lithuanian beer from Friar Tuck's in Savoy, Illinois. Pours pure clear yellow, with a two finger head, above average carbonation, and little lacings. It has a malty taste, with notes of lactose, rice, and grains. It is not filling, has no bite, no edge, has a malty after taste, and goes down easy.

Pale yellow almost grapefruit color . Fluffy white head with good lacing.

Sweet , grassy, or grainy aroma with slight citrus under tones.

Had a sweet , grainy , slight bitter taste . bitterness on back of tongue that faded quickly. This is a better tasting lager than you would get from a US macro brewer.

easy drinking , I found it pretty refreshing. A good beer but not outstanding.

Utenos’ pours a somewhat cloudy golden hue, fairly pale. Light & fluffy head that disappears kind of fast… leaves no trace of its existence.

This is a big beer, harsh and bitter. Expect a major “taste build-up” on your tongue, as you drink it, not at all pleasurable as it leaves a skunky tang. Nothing really enjoyable about Utenos Beer (besides being cold & wet).

I have had plenty of beers that are better. I got a pint of this for $2 and it was just an okay beer. I would not go out of my way to drink this.

Presentation: Poured from a 500ml clear bottle into a standard Shaker pint. My mother in law got this for me in a pack of beers from around the world. Label is foiled blue, gold, and white. No freshness date.

Appearance: Pours with 1 finger of pure white head. This settles to a thin layer of foam and eventually to nothing. The beer itself is bright yellow and perfectly clear with moderate activity. No sediment in the bottle.

Smell: Sweet malt with hints of lemon grassiness.

Taste: Very sweet malt upfront with a very slight citrusy finish. Long lingering sweetness in the finish, no bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Average carbonation level. Body is good.

Drinkability: Not too bad. An easy drinking beer, mainly because of its relatively across the board lack of anything too strong or stand out, Probably won't revisit again.

Not a bad drinking beer for an AS. I rather enjoyed it.It poured a medium sized white head with fine-small sized bubbles that quickly dissipated. The body was cloudy with a lot of lively carbonation with a pale yellow hue.The nose was malty and a little bit of fruit. The flavor was a bit hoppy and it had a smooth and somewhat thin texture to it and it was light-medium bodied. There was very little lacing.

Poured from a clear 16.9 oz. bottle. Has a light golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of grains, a touch of skunk. Taste is crisp, malts and grains, a touch of sweetness to it. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a refreshing and very drinkable beer.

A: Poured a very slight hazy lemon-orange with a creamy, dull white head. Visible carbonation was extremely soft.

S: promising with bright lemons and oranges with a nice spicy hop zing to it.

T: The flavor had a decent fresh graininess to it with hints of lemons and oranges. Pretty basic, ok overall with a crisp finish. There was some sweet buttery notes as well some citrus coming through in the end.

M: light, with a soft carbonation providing for a moderate feel.

D: Drinkability was average, not much to say about this flavor wise or drinkability wise. Doesn't offend though certainly not enough to distinguish itself.

My first Lithuanian lawnmower beer...pretty uneventful. The taste is one dimensional, crisp grain with a very short cameo of hops.

In the glass, it appears clear and golden. Smell is typical euro styled mediocrity. One could drink a few of these in hot weather, if blindfolded and told it was PBR...

If you are into pounding cheap euro imports, this Utenos is for you...

Pours a thin amber, red caramel color with a minor light tan head that is not retained. Somewhat thin for style.
Aroma has toffee, hazel nuts with a hint of burnt coffee.
Falvor mirrors the aroma with the addition of some buttery diacteyl notes. Little bit off for style again.
Mouthfeel is slightly sweet with a hint of roasty charcoal. Again a tad too thin for style.
Drinkability is decent, not outstanding but solid beer.

not that i expected much out of lithuania, but i was a bit disappointed here. poured a light gold colour. it looks pretty much like a heineken or peroni or the like. no head is apparent but there is minimal lacing. there is an overly grainy smell here, along with a bit of a metallic smell, which i found a bit strange for a bottled product. hints of lemon too, perhaps. the metallic smell is even more apparent in the taste, along with a bit too much alcohol flavouring as well. heavy on the grain here as well too. nothing gag-inducing but not a great balance in the flavour at all. i can't say that i enjoyed this one much and don't see myself going back to it again.

Utenos has a thick, white, soapy head, a clear, yellow-golden appearance, and no lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet grain and some odd black pepper smell. Taste is of sweet malt, white corn, unusual bitterness, corn starch, and some other resin-like undertaste. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Utenos finishes semi-dry, unpleasantly bitter, and somewhat harsh. Overall, this is inferior to, say, Keystone Premium, for example, so I would score it low average. Avoid it, or try it just to see what I mean.

The beer pours a paradigmatic lager/pils golden amber color, with an archetypal modest in size white head followed by the representative fine lace sheets to cover the glass. Quintessential clean crisp and malt laden lager/pils aromas dominate the nose with the classical malt lightly sweet start and the typical skeletal top. Finish is unexceptionally hopped with a characteristically acidic bite and the matter-of-course dry aftertaste.

500ml bottle. Pokal glass. Enjoyed on jul´12. Crystal clear & yellow in color. White froth. Close, slowly dissipated crown. Aromas of sugar, malts & lemon syrup. Sweet maltiness at first sip & vey smooth palate. Very subtle citric hop follows. Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation. Watery texture. Hinst of ripe fruit –apples & pears- in the middle lingers into a dry sweet finish.

Poured a light straw hue with a two finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell featured a sweet adjunct and a slight grassy hop.

The taste consited of a nearly cloyingly sweet adjunct and light utilitarian hop.

The mouthfeel was typical of the style.

Overall a below average euro lager.

Pours a clear yellow beer with not much head.

Smell is light malts and bread. Fainter scents of cooked vegetables and mild herbal hop scent.

Taste is light flavor of malt and a little sweet. After a while faint bitterness and metallic flavor show up in your mouth.

Mouthfeel is light.

In a word this one is swill. Off tasting lager with several taste defects. AVOID!

The creamy, dense, persistent white head sits atop a slightly hazy golden hued brew. Belgian lace is left. White bread sweetness and cooked cabbage DMS dominate the aroma, w/ light sulfur, grain husk and grassy hop nose secondary. Moderate, clean hop bitterness upfront in flavor yields to a soft, grainy pilsner malt sweetness that is unfortunately contrasted by offputting sulfur. The flavor profile goes downhill from there... notes of buttery diacetyl and fusels, although very mild, are very distracting in this pilsner. Very rough in character, probably from a combination of substandard fermentation conditions and / or lagering and poor handling. Spot on bodywise for style, w/ a crisp mouthfeel. Finishes sulfury, bready and dry. Perhaps this is better on tap in Lithuania, but in this form this is a very sub par pilsner. Although it isn't undrinkable, Utenos is very rough around the edges. Avoid this one.

Poured a golden color with a fluffy head that was quick to say good bye. The nose is okay, a bit grassy, no skunkiness and not unappealing. The hops are there, but not very pronounced. Taste is okay, but not particularly interesting. It's not a bad beer, and as good as any of the American macros which is where this beer would compete in quality.
