L- Very deep ruby chestnut. Poured carefully after resting for days and being chilled with negligable haze, with some minor sediment left in bottle. Be prepared to have to pour really slowly, or use an over-size glass[?] as even with the former it took me a couple of mins to pour and gave a c5 Cm mid tan pillowy head that's holding well.
S- Deep malts and roastiness.
T- Notably sweet is my first impression. A roastiness does follow but through the prism of an almost cloying sweetness which seems to mask and detract from much else. On about the 5th sip I suddenly register a mild ABV-zing and remember this is a 9% beer, something I'd invariably notice on the first sip. [Late ps. with about 90% drunk, I suddenly notice a coffee note! Where was it earlier?...].
F- Rich/sweet, heavy. It lacks any hoppy-dry note that you'd expect from a stout.
O- This is a curious one for me. It's waaay too sweet, and doesn't resemble a stout (lacking noticable hopping). Instead 'Belgian Strong Ale' per the Description^ seems much more applicable. I've had several over recent weeks, some I've enjoyed but others have really surprised me with their (up to) extreme sweetness. Any thoughts they might be in the same'ish style of a Belgian Tripel/Quad are completely banished, it's a style that is really hit and miss for me.

330ml bottle from De Garre, Bruges (€4.50):
Quite a strong beer at points but still not as overpowering as some imperial stout thanks to the good balance & the nice sweetness coming through from the chocolate, dark fruits & even a little caramel malt. It was drinkable with a smooth feel & good complexity as well. An interesting beer that I'm glad I managed to try, although there are definitely better imperial stouts out there to be had.

L: Pours a dark brown with a small khaki head that's gone in a flash, no lacing at all.
S: A hint of plum, fig and a hint of sweet cherries.
T: Dark fruit.
F: Low carbonation, thin texture.
O: Not much here for me to enjoy. Belgium beers are not my "glass of beer".
Thanks to Jerry in Minneapolis for this one.

one of underrated beers. dark brown with medium tan head. average retention. smells caramel, dark fruits and chocolate. taste is overly sweet and fruity for an stout. roasted malt, tons of candied sugars and overly fruity notes. med-full bodied, moderate carbonation. dry and slight sour finish. I accept it as a strong belgian ale.

Dark brown with a ruby tinge, gusher of carbonation that left 3 fingers of beige head.
Cherries and dark toasted notes, clean linen, coke, prunes.
Cherries, prunes, coke, nail polish. Covers alcohol on the tongue, but not the burn in the throat.
Thick and slightly oily but lightened by the foamy carbonation.
Got this one in Vientiane, drank in Chiang Mai Oct 26th, 2015. Reminiscent of Guinness in Belgium, but lighter and less complex.

Black-ruby with lots of tan trailers. 4
Raisins, oak, and whisky on the nose. 4.25
Brown sugar, mashed red plums, tart cherry comeback, some roasty smoke. 4
Light-med, crisp, lean. 4
Fruity for a stout; that, gentle roastiness and the clean finish make for one of the better uniquely Belgian takes on the style. But the Grand Cru version steals the show, squeezing every bit of vanilla out of Pauillac oak barrels. Lives up to the rep. 4.25

A stout, pretty classic and almost bland (if stouts can be bland)
Dark color, burnt malt and caramel aromas, what you'd expect. Just nothing more to it, no complexity, only originality might be it's a Belgian Stout...
Not a bad beer, but a little overdone for what it is.
