Highly suggested by a number of my fellow quaffers.
Poured out a golden apricot color with a big, fluffy head but very little lace.
Smell is amazing with notes of sweetness, malt, citrus (orange & tangerine - Florida law requires residents to know the difference :-) ), a peppery spice, and some yeast.
Taste fell short of the wonderful smell. Hops, malt, a huge alcohol bloom (@40 degrees F), spice and citrus. Balance was poor, alcohol really overpowered the flavors here.
Mouthfeel was a bit rough around the edges, much like a hoppy bite but not actually from the hops which were quite restrained. Medium/full body with nice effervescence all over the mouth and tongue.
Drinkability would be just acceptable. There are many better tripels available. I must report to those who recommended this brew that it came up lacking, in my opinion.

Presentation: Slender 11.2 oz brown bottle with a “Best Before End” freshness date on the back label.

Appearance: Head retention has some problems, color is a shade or two darker than the usual Triple. Orange golden hue is a touch hazy.

Smell: Phenolic and fruity. Sweet and spicy alcohol. Suggestions of melon and mango, peppery undertones from the phenols and alcoholic esters.

Taste: Medium body with a light syrupy mouth feel. Carbonation is a bit stiff with a solid crispness. Malt sweetness hits with a sweet grain and refined honey flavour. Warming alcohol is a little quick to flex its strength with esters of sweetness and spiciness that throw around fruity and peppery flavours. Fruity flavours range from pear to mango to melon. Yeast flings a nuttiness into the palate. Hops are a tad leafy with a mellow yet balancing bitterness. The malt still holds strong through it all and in the finish it still prevails with a dry grainy, almost grassy, flavour.

Notes: A good triple, not as stellar as others but still worth a visit. Still big enough to pair up with smelly gourmet cheese and pumpernickel bread.

Light amber in hue with brilliant clarity when decanted off the sediment. Stiff, dense, nearly static head leaves lace. Bready sweetness and yeast must upfront in aroma, followed by subtle notes of underripe plum and green apple. Faint clove phenol and banana. Clean, but tame aromawise. Fugacious notes of juicy kiwi and citric pineapple are quickly superceded by mellow, dried date like sweetness with a banana tinge. Becomes progressively more bread - like, with subtle peppery ethanol and lightly salted cracker emerging mid palate. Very well attenuated, with a thinnish, passably crisp mouthfeel. Approaches savory in character late, with suggestions of herbed biscuit running parallel to constituent honeyish sweetness. Finishes with an odd, yet agreeable impression of sugar sprinkled nut studded multi grain bread. An unusual tripel driven by yeast derived breadiness, but light on fruity esters. Tasty and dangerously light on the palate, indeed.

Pours with a two-fingered white head that fades slowly and leaves a good lace but pour slowly there is a ton of chunky bits and with the active carbonation it *looks* like a witch's cauldron. Cloudy amber color. Nose is sweet maybe bready. Starts sweet and crisp, finishes smooth but there is some alcohol in the background.

This was a 33cl bottle I scored in Amsterdam and lugged back home... Poured dark golden, with plentiful, minute bubbles steadily rising through the clear liquid. Bier filled the goblet about 1/2 way; the rest of the gob was filled by the head! The topping was light beige colored and very billowy and whipped-cream like. It slowly collapsed upon itself yet still maintained at about 1/2" throughout, with lovely lacing in the glass. Pater has a very noticeable nose with spiciness and pepper notes. The aroma suggests a dryness in the bier. It had a medium body, yet a slight rough, prickly feel on the tongue. Flavor begins with some bready, doughy malt, along with slight intimations of tropical fruit. The finish is indeed dry, with mild spice qualities. Not a bad Tripel at all, and though lacking some complexity, I'd have another if available.

12 oz brown bottle, biege label. Freshness date of 010803 stamped on back. A hazy dark yellow to orange color. Bubbly white head, didn't last long. Smell was dominated by thick yeast smells. Some faint fruits of figs, plums, etc. Taste was slightly citrus to start, then mostly sweet and sticky. Nice rich taste, but not as balanced as other triples. Yeast sediments settled to the bottom. Highly carbonated and bubbly. Carbonation was too much, and fizziness dominated the taste to the finish. That and a slick sweetness, made this start strong, but couldn;t finish. Really close to being good. I think I just got a highly charged batch. Also I think there is something to having triples in the big bottles with the cork and cage.

Carefully poured to leave its loose sediment behind (even in long-standing bottles), it's a brilliantly clear amber-gold with yellow and gold highlights beneath a tenacious, creamy head of off-white foam. The yeast pour, however, clouds it immensely and thus darkens it to a very deep amber. Very fine bubbles stream upwards, helping to maintain its head; and it holds quite well and leaves walls of lace that don't stick to the glass throughout, but rather stay just above the surface of the beer as its level goes down. It's actually quite nice. The lace appears almost as mountains in the distance. The nose is sweetly bready with a touch of vanilla (cookie dough!), some candy, and a floral note; and that character follows over into the flavor with the addition of some honey and dark fruit. The alcohol makes a minor showing but never hinders, and actually adds a bit of character in its delicately peppery suggestion. The hop bitterness is obviously quite subdued - there's just enough to keep it from becoming cloying - but it seems as if there might be some slight herbal quality added in the flavor. And despite it's effervescence, the very fine and natural carbonation leaves it just lightly crisp before warming to become airy and smooth in the mouth. Quite enjoyable, and very drinkable.

The thick foamy head on this beer settles a bit too quickly, leaving just a thin top after about a minute. The beer itself is yellow, decently carbonated, and slightly hazy.

The aroma is a bit weak for the style, smelling primarilly of yeast at first, but develops a bit as the beer warms, gaining some figgish notes. Still a bit thin.

In the mouth, this is a medium-bodied beer, with the typical bubblegum sweet flavor of Belgian candi sugar leading the way. This is complimented by spicy, cloveish flavors in what makes for a very smooth drinking beer. Very slight hop finish.

Pours a clear deep gold color, the head is voluminous, creamy, white in color, the lace in thick sheets, and a "Bazillion" tiny bubbles. Nose is malt, a touch of citrus, hints of bubble gum, and quite "Sniffable". Front is sweet, the top skinny, the finish is potently acidic, pleasantly hopped, the long dry aftertaste, contains a hint of alcohol. Quite a good drinking beer, and worth the effort to sample. Ranks #434 on my current 1000 beer master list,

Slightly cloudy straw yellow to golden. Huge white fluffy head, leaves only moderate lacing on a clean glass. Bready spiced bananna nose with a hint of alcohol. Body is sweet, malty, with moderate to high carbonation. Something is missing for me but can't quite pin point it. For some reason it feels very thin in the mouth, but upon drinking the finish revives it. Good easy drinking, though nothing stand out.

Pours a deep amber yellow color with a very nice head.A breadiness in the nose along with a predominant yeast aroma.Slight spiciness.Malty and very phenolic flavor.Somewhat sweet which rapidly fades into a lingering bitterness.Good mouthfeel for the style.Overall a decent enuff beer but theres a slew of other triples I would grab first.

Pours out to a slightly hazy deep golden orange, forming a growing soapy and spongy white head white forms a peak above the rim of the glass. Retention is exceptional and lacing is minimal. Carbonation is very strong, with spiraling streamers. Aroma is instantly skunky..very much light struck...aside from that, I can there is a Belgian funky sourness and some faint dustiness. Mouthfeel is very spritzy with a medium-light body. Taste begins with spicy phenols, lots of cloves, fruity esters, and apples, followed by a spicy lightly herbal bitterness towards the semi-tart and very spicy finish. Sticky sweet and sugary pale malt body in the middle. Alcohol is present in warmth, but not in taste. No off-flavors. Adding the yeast and letting it warm filled it out a bit with some nice breadiness.

A nice triple, which is representative of the style, but unfortunately my bottle was very light struck. Despite this, I enjoyed this brew very much and look forward to trying it again with a fresher bottle.

Pours a pale copper color with a nice beige-colored head. After careful pour, lots of flaky particule suspension even with a small amount of yeast sediment left in the 33 cl bottle. Had a best before end date of 2002 and a lot #BR05 (?). Complex aromas of breadiness, spicy yeast and almost like honeysuckle blossoms. Initially sweet turning slightly yeasty and finishing rather dry. Very enjoyable. Bubbly and smooth at the same time. I guess the only thing I could say that I didn't like about this beer is it's chunky particle suspension, but that's to be expected in some Belgians with some age behind it. Recommended.

Maize-colored brew with a streaky haze. Looks like a dingier version, both from the not-quite-white head and the muddied body. Expected estery aroma with a zip of phenolic pepper bursts.

A bit light on the flavor. Alcohol and pear. Other fruits. Tropical and wild. Heavy yeast presence in this brew seems to mute the flavors and give it a more earthy, herbal appeal. Very easy to drink though the trade off is that it's hardly a shining beacon of Belgian complexity. Alcohol asserts itself with more force as it warms. Almost too harsh at points as a result. Finishes pretty dry.

This brew pours a very large envigorated head of very fine white bubbles and a cloudy yeasty golden colored body with only a few yeast particles in it. It has a mild floral-yeast aroma with a smooth slightly fizzy foretaste and a clean finish. Its flavor is that of yeast, bread and some citrousy notes.

When this brew was poured it had a large white head that consisted of fine-medium bubbles. The body was gold and the lacing was poor. There was some carbonation observed with this brew. The aroma was both spicy and fruity. This brew had a smooth taste to it with a slight bitterness noted.

Amber/orange color, transparent, light carbonation and an off-white head. Retention is low and lace is clingy. I miss judged my pour and got some large chunks whirling around. Aroma is tart and yeasty and grassy. Flavor is lightly sweet at the start with a dry slightly tart finish. Peppery attributes dominate the character of the taste. A tripel in the Westmalle tradition, but not as thick and intense. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and highly effervescent. Light hop bite. I fail to see any complexity of Pater, but it is an enjoyable version of a tripel.

Clear golden color with a nice fluffy white head. Decent lacing. Aroma is really fruity and has some residual sweetness with it. I'm getting a strong honey sweetness up front. Quite thick for how it looks. Bready base underneath and a banana flavor is in there as well. Alcohol seems stronger than 5% and a little out of place. The finish really gets me though. It seems oxidated and leaves a wet cardboard taste in my mouth. Still drinkable but the oxidation hurts. Otherwise this was a solid tripel.

Appearance: It pours a brownish orange color with a small hovering head. There are lots of tiny bubbles rising to the surface. This lasts throughout the beer. Lacing is good too.

Smell: It has a very sweet, malty aroma. There are hints of aged fruits and oak.

Taste: The bulk of the flavor consists of a flowery and fruity combination. This being said, it isn't an overly sweet beer. It is well balanced with whatever malts are in the mash. The flavor seems to transition - taking a pear like sweetness and amplifiying it into an alcohol finish that really warms the back of the throat.

Mouthfeel: The body comes in very wet, but it gets surprisingly thick once it makes contact. You can really feel it grow and spread over the entire tongue and mouth.

11.2 oz. brown bottle.

Tons of dregs suspended in a cloudy dark gold body with a light fluffy head.

Fresh fruit of a tropical variety: kiwi, star fruit, etc. Definite funkiness, aka barnyard funk. A touch of booze.

Thinnish body with a lot of spritzy CO2.

Light and fruity. Alcohol is hidden but still noticable. Bone dry finish. Barnyard funk is there for sure.

Interesting and better than I hoped for.

A 750 mL corked and caged bottle shared with Phatz and JohnnyM2002.

A: The ale is a goldenrod color. The bottle popped with a loud sound and was pretty vigorous head-wise. The glass slowly dissapated to a small white ring around the glass and some lacing.

S: The aroma is a very sweet honey flavor with a yeasty kick and no hint of alcohol.

T: The flavor is disturbingly sweet. There is no coriander element to add a hint of spicy heat. The tripel starts out with a honey and clove sweetness and slowly turning sweeter, if that is possible! The ale finishes with an intensely sweet honey and sugary fruit flavor.

M: The mouthfeel is almost, but not quite, cloyingly sweet. I wish that there were a little more spice-wise to add some peppery heat.

D: I am glad that I had two other people to split this bottle with, as I don;t think that I could have gotten through the whole thing, it is just too sweet.

750ml bomber

A-Nice light golden body with plenty of carbonation. Head was light but rocky. Very little lacing. I like a little more of a copper orange body for a tripel, but still nice looking.

S-I am attributing the heavy cork smell to a semi-bad bottle. Past the wet cork, there was heavy tropical fruit smell. Belgian yeast is not very present.

T-Again, the cork comes through with a wet cardboard (oxidation). The fruitiness comes through on the tongue nicely. A hop and yeast spice comes through before the earthy finish. When colder, this is remarkably saison-like in wet-grass and straw taste. As it warms, the soft, sweet fruitiness comes full-circle. I still miss the yeast attribute.

M-This beer is very soft and mellow from start to finish. A spiciness is leftover, but very welcome. A grainy aspect adds to the depth.

D-Like mentioned, the cork presence threw me off a little, but I can see the potential of this beer. Easy to drink and definately gentle enough to be an all-nighter.
