The colour is deep gold (20 EBC), the liquid is clear. The finger thick head is off-white and compact, it sinks down slowly leaving some lacing on the glass.
The smell is malty with some caramel and rye bread. Clean bitterness and a hint of paper.
The taste is bitter with semi-sweet caramel, French loaf and dried apricots. Hints of citric peel. Passing wet paper flavours. Medium body. The aftertaste got quite a lot of background bitterness, some rye crisp bread and a touch of lemon. The short finish got notes of caramel and clean bitter.
The carbonation is strong, the large short-lived bubbles sharp. The liquid is light and a little harsh.
An OK low alcohol APA, shame about the paper/pulp flavours though.
