The colour is dark brown, almost black (80 EBC); the liquid is clear. The two finger high head is brown and compact. It sinks slowly leaving some lacing on the glass.
The smell is smooth and sweet. Notes of pumpernickel, coffee and dark chocolate. Hints of dough.
The taste is first bitter. Then, roasted malts emerges with notes of coffee and barbequed meats. Some pumpernickel and a touch of liquorice. It is quite dry. Light to medium body. The aftertaste is balanced and strong for the strength. Clean bitter notes, roasted and burned malts, some liquorice and a hint of caramel. The finish got smooth notes of coffee drops and toffee.
The carbonation is medium strong, the bubbles large. The liquid is light to medium.
A light yet balanced stout.
