The colour is brown, the liquid clear. The two fingers head is beige and compact; it sinks down to a thin lid leaving no lacing.
The smell is sweet and smooth with smoked delicatessen (more ham than sausages), roasted nuts and biscuits. Some bitter notes with herbal and floral notes.
The taste is at first quite bitter with passing herbs. Growing semi-sweet delicatessen smoke (no forest fire) and nuts. Light to medium body. The aftertaste is somewhat harsh with bitter herbs and citric peels plus some smoked malt. The finish is dry with hints of soap and smoked cheese.
The carbonation is medium strong, the few small bubbles are long-lived. The liquid is semi-smooth.
Not as rich and full-bodied as the classic rauchbiers from Franken. At times, I rather found tis one rather thin.
