The traditional Swedish drink kaffekask is a cup of hot coffee laced with snaps. Hence the name of this Swedish coffee stout.
The colour is pinch black and opaque. There is a low pale brown airy head.
Coffee-flavours dominate the somewhat bitter-sweet smell. Maybe there are some malty notes too, but mostly coffee.
The smell is also loaded with creamy, somewhat dry coffee. I found some hints of cream and sweet almonds. The aftertaste is dry with a gentle bitterness and a fine espresso finish.
The carbonation is gentle; the thick liquid is very creamy.
This beer is made in collaboration with Stockholm beer bar Oliver Twist. And what an interesting and balanced beer it was!
