RBESG 2006, bottle. Amber colour. Dusty leather aroma. Dry dusty flavour, nothing spectacular.

Bottle: Poured a copper color ale with an average size foamy head with some retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of perfect fruity ester somehow clashes with dry bitter English style hops. Taste is a unbalanced mix between some fruity ester with strong dry bitter English hops with a medium caramel malt. Average body with good carbonation. This is really a good example where less hops would have been profitable.

The Nils Oscar Farm Ale I had looked good in its dark golden color. The smell was of toffees, bread and a note of honey. That was pretty much what it tasted like too with bitter hops and sweet candy/fruits dominating. Not bad but having heard such good things about the beer I admit I was disappointed since there was something lacking to give it a full body.

The liquid is clear, pale copper-coloured. The white foam is quite compact and finger-thick.
The sweet smell is mild with hints of dried fruit and plum.
The carbonation is perfectly balanced: Neither sticky, nor stale but very refreshing.
The taste is surprisingly discreet with a good measure of diacetyl, but I could also notice some flavours of raisins, prune and some dry malt. The finish was dominated by a fruity taste that evolved into a somewhat simple and dry bitterness. The aftertaste was remarkably short-lived.
I was told that this cask-conditioned variant (made exclusively for the bar Akkurat in Stockholm) is dry-hopped, a treatment that the bottled beer misses.

Clear, dark golden with no head at all, looks a bit dull. Medium carbonation and quite light mouthfeel. Hoppy smell with fruity touches. Semi-sweet taste not so bitter at all, quite hoppy, very 'lagerish'. Easy to drink though, otherwise pretty average.

Light body and texture, very soft hoppyness. a touch sweeter than their others, and well, um, lighter, i nice session ale perhaps? Still quite tasty slightly resiny, slightly citrusy, a pretty top interperatation of ther style, although its not a style i am overly keen on.
