Notes / Commercial Description:
Paulaner Bräuhaus is a brewpub that does NOT bottle or can their bier. So, unless you drank it vom Faß at the brewpub, it's the wrong bier!!! Try the main Paulaner Brauerei...

On-draught @ the brewpub in Munich. 4.10 euro/pint. (Steep compared to, say, Augustiner 25 minutes' walk away).

Hearty hefeweizen with a nice fresh wheat backbone and a subtle banana ester. Some clove from the saccharomyces yeast as well.

Soft yet sharply overcarbonated. Smooth, wet, medium-bodied. Average thickness and heft on the palate.

It's a nice weissbier. Okay, not on par with Schneider Weiss, Ayinger, Franziskaner, or Andechs - but nice. And certainly drinkable, though not worth the hefty 4.10 euro pricetag.

Consumed back in late July when I visited the Brauhaus in Munich. Comes out that darker amber color, hazy, with a fluffy head that let's you know this a Paulaner hefe. Nice aroma, tart, spicy, caramel sweetness. Nice blast of sweetness first, middle is pure yeast spice, finish is short and sweet. Overall lighter body with refreshing carbonation, more sweet than spicy overall which makes it better for cooler days. My favorite here.

Had this while in Austria. Confused about finding this on Beer Advocate, but other 2 reviews seemed similar. Pours a nice amber color with a thick retaining head. Very fruity smell - nice sweet hefeweizen. The smell follows through with the taste. This is a great beer - perfect on a hot day. Hopefully this isn't as hard to find as what I am reading. If so, may need to have a few more.

nice, crisp with citrus flavors. i had this at a bar with over 100 beers on tap and requested a subtle hefeweisen. pours semi-cloudy with an orangey-gold color. very smooth - more pronounced citrus flavors than weihenenstephaner, but along the same lines. great choice for a summer day because it is not too heavy and has those summery citrus/flowery flavors, but the hint of spice would make it a good choice for a hayride in the fall as well. subtle grassy smell, like hay or a field.

One of my favorite beer. Nice cloudy orange look. Spice, banana, clove. Have to make sure you pour into a glass but leave a little in the bottle. Let settle and and swirl to get all the goody from the bottom. Then pour into a glass for even a better taste.
